Yeah, after the dimpled chad and hanging chad debacle here in Florida, we went back to hand marked paper ballots too.

from a friend's page on facebook...

As I voted this morning in Virginia, I chose Large Print. The first screen had only a check box for Mitt Romney in large print. In my hurry, I almost chose it, then thought, "Huh? Where is Obama?!" I pushed Next and there he was, in smaller print along with the three third party candidates on a page together. The newspaper has already had an editorial about this and people have reported it in the public radio talk programs. I just can't believe that this could be allowed!

Post from Ed Bentacourt in Fort Lauderdale FL.
ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be EXTRA careful when voting! Just saw this on Debbie Wasserman's page: From Christine Scott... Debbie - Just off the phone with a friend who voted in southern florida. He checked Obama for President and then went about the down ballot votes. Apparently, at his polling place, the last thing you can do if you want to, although many don't do it, is review your ballot for authorizing your vote. He saw that ROMNEY had been checked instead. So, he unchecked Romney and re-checked Obama...and went through the process. AGAIN, it came up Romney. At that point, he got a poll worker who had him fill out a provisional ballot. This is NOT HEARSAY. I JUST got off the phone with him. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CALL THE FBI VOTER SUPPRESSION HELP LINE IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS!!

Shout at your Congressman/woman and get the electronic mess turned back to paper "darken the entire circle in" ballot.

All States should make this a priority.

I noted kats post was from a Floridian so wondered if it varies county to county.

apparently there are malfunctions going both ways, some people hitting the romney button getting obama, others the opposite.

either gross negligence (as in the volunteer above and the machine's makers) or the intent of nullifying the election altogether are at the bottom of this..?

many astrologers have voiced doubts that there will even BE an election...not the first time i know, but could this be the makings of a rerun with all paper ballots later in the year?

I read briefly about a PA one, but it was only one machine. They recalibrated it, and it worked fine again.

How many other computers (that is for something other than an election) mess up like this?

I've used plenty of touch screens and while I can recall plenty of annoyance I can't recall this happening even once...for example, I have yet to hear of ANYONE complain that if they touch "credit" on a touch screen that they instead get "debit." So is this a problem unique to the halls of power?

Anyway, in the meantime, a fable about using electronic voting machines...
