I don't want to discuss Obamacare or Obama. We lost.

However, if you think about the power of one man--John Roberts.

However, have you thought about that Roberts was the gatekeeper for the biggest change in all of US history.

Not surprisingly, he's a conservative. That makes sense as it was a conservative think tank that originally thought up Obamacare as an alternative to either socialized medicine Canada style as plenty in America were promoting or Hillarycare. Republicans pushed it but was seen as heartless by liberals and there was enough inertia against it that it didn't far. Romney was one of the few exceptions to get it passed in his state.

And then Obama took it and ran with it...what's fascinating to me was how conservatives & liberals a like radically rewrote their opinion on it as soon as Obama claimed it as his own idea...even after he made several compromises with Republicans to dilute it even further.

As not many remember it now Obamacare (before it was called that of course) was originally touted by Republicans as forcing people to be responsible in making them buy insurance so that louts couldn't burden the system and force others (via taxes) to pay it, and Republicans at the time saw it as similar as forcing people to buy car liability insurance and forcing deadbeat dads to pay (as they didn't want single mothers on welfare). Of course liberals called it heartless back then before the Great One ran with it.

Obamacare is not a matter of thoughtless ot not thoughtless.

It is unsustainable. It is like trying to make gravity work, backwards.

It can't work as it will cripple business. That will result in lay offs, no new hiring and businesses folding.

Then, we are sunk but people had their chance.

Amen and blessings to you

Guess it`s not over until Roberts says it is

Supreme Court allows new challenge to Obama health care law

quote:

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals threw out the case last year, saying the university couldn't challenge the employer or birth control mandates before they went into effect. The university argues that providing employees and students with health insurance that covers contraceptives violates its religious freedom under the First Amendment, and that employers cannot be compelled to provide health insurance.

More than 40 lawsuits have been filed against the birth control mandate, according to the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a nonprofit legal group that has challenged the mandate. Many are from religiously affiliated universities, but a few private businesses, including the crafts chain store Hobby Lobby, have also joined in. The circuit court could decide the case as early as this spring, potentially setting the stage for another Supreme Court decision on the law. Adults who do not have health insurance and large employers who do not provide it will gradually begin paying fines starting in 2014.
