Remember how Mel Gibson portrayed the Jewish people in Passion of the Christ.

Are you SURE about that?

I think I recall reading (before this went viral) that he played similar roles in similar movies and that this wasn't that odd (which made me think coincidence). But trying to find that again is difficult now because the Obama comparison dominates the netsearch now and he's not big enough to have easily found sites like IMDB to show how he normally appears in previous movies. So I ask again, are you sure?

ETA: by adding "coincidence" to my search I was able to find this:

That could go either way to me, but I don't feel like saying why or why some of what they listed was irrelevant (like Rick Warren giving the prayer, he wasn't an Obama supporter even then, and I can only guess he accepted the invite out of a desire for fame). Still, it would be nice to see how he looked in the earlier roles they talk about.

As a child of the industry and fan of the advances in technology, it is inconceivable that a) any natural resemblance was not noticed by the professionals in casting, direction and production or
b) that the makeup dept couldn't alter his basic features in any way they wanted/were instructed.

Therefore i rule out coincidence - which i don't believe in anyway, lol!
