Jeb Bush on George’s Paintings: He Would Like to Paint Your Dog, ProbablyLast week, hacker Guccifer, revealed more of George W. Bush's newfound love of painting (or method of therapy. Whichever.), releasing six new photographs of his work that ranged from still life to animal portraits. And it gets better. Jeb Bush, who admits to being surprised when learning about his brother's hobby after finding out about it a year ago, told CNN's Jake Tapper that the former president is painting dogs "with a vengeance," saying, "He's actually become a pretty good painter." According to Jeb, there's a good chance that Tapper, who is a former White House correspondent for ABC News, could someday be the owner of his very own Bush painting. "If you've got a dog, I'm sure based on your past relationship, he would like to paint it," he said. In the meantime, we can all sit patiently while we wait for the inevitable Etsy shop. http://gawker.com/5992120/jeb-bush-on-georges-paintings-he-would-like-to-paint-your-dog-probably For more paintings, see the original article: http://gawker.com/5991732/a-watermelon-a-golf-course-a-horse-and-monstrous-dogs-12-new-paintings-from-george-w-bush IP: Logged |

In the back of my lab manual. I have a list and classification of animal and plants, from Phylum to Species. I had a joke with my my Teaching Assistant She said Phylum: Chordata, Class: Reptile, Species: Bush was missing. Believe me there Reptilians, lol. IP: Logged |

People like Bush, born in the Year of the Dog, tend to really love dogs. IP: Logged |

while ineptitude can be excused in learners OF COURSE, the "horse" was very disturbing...with its mule ears and the front and hind legs having apparently different kinds of fur/hair/colouring...brings to mind genetic engineering! and that kind of bleeds into the other oddnesses, for me anyway. Meh.I'm not a fan if the man, but he likes to paint. I probably couldn't do better. ------------------ If I've included this sig, it's because I'm posting from a mobile device. Please excuse all outrageous typos and confusing auto-corrects. IP: Logged |

What fun! Thanks for posting it AG.I love the comments section on the link: It's not fair! First he destroys my chances of ever being president with his dumb administration and now everyone loves him for his crappy dog paintings! I'm the smart one! Mom so likes me better. *throws down something and stomps off* & another: You know that whole family has to be pi$$ed that the dumb son was president, thus ruining the smart sons chance of being POTUS. Sadly, if Jeb runs, about 47% of this country will be dumb enough to vote for him. as to the paintings, the face on the collie is good. It really speaks, that face.
The behind-bars-dog is disturbing. I wonder if there are paint-psych people who could decode these. I would say from the armchair tho that georgie is the dog, imprisoned by the WH, he is outside looking in-doesn't belong. I'm into run-on sentences today kat I thought that was a zebra- had to go back and look again after what you typed. The captions talk about odd angles, they are not odd, he was just trying to add modernity and interest. IP: Logged |

These seem like paintings that were a part of lessons he took. I actually see some talent in them & am impressed with the grapes and the shadow and light play and use of contrast in that one. The touches of gray indicate they hadnt been washed yet before painting....he painted that film (pesticides?) on them quite realistically. Seems like he got tired of it at some point or gave up with the kiwi (or whatever it is) somehow floating alone inside the bowl in the background.....which together, also seem to be defying gravity and remaining on the edge of the back end of the table They made me smile. quote: Right? All that ******** for a decade about he's the guy everyone would want to have a beer with, and it's only NOW, because of these goofy paintings, that I probably actually would have a beer with the guy.
quote: I hate how he seems so nice and normal in his retirement. Why couldn't he just be some guy who paints dogs? Why'd he have to become the president of the United States?

I guess I give him credit where credit is due as he did finish his paintings... but folks, there`s something inherently wrong with those mutant critters What the heck is he trying to get across to us? quote: The behind-bars-dog is disturbing. yup ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. Our songs are different. They should be in harmony with each other. ~ Mattie Stepanek

I thought maybe he was the lone fruit in the bowl, looking on from afar at the crowd of grapes in the spotlight.... We might never know. And maybe he doesnt either. Interesting things come out when you paint. And people's interpretations can be just as interesting. IP: Logged |
