so in the supposed shiningest country on earth, a man victim of a terrorist attack has to pay for his surgeries????

Basically, yes Pire. BUT the American people`s largesse and empathetic hearts open and donate until the fund is met. To that end, I hope all who see the site and others like it , donate.

It would be nice if the hospital would donate to this man's recovery themselvrs. I have never met a decent doctor who would not waive some or all of such costs...

These are matters of charity in a capitalist nation. Charity tends to meet the need (by the hospitals/doctors and by the gifts of our citizens).

The kicker was then that he couldn't then pass the financial background chck required by many large corporations and institutions because he has a bankruptcy on his record.

I meant in a national emergency situation such as a terrorist act or catastrophe. Yes, unfortunately, in individual circumstances, it may not apply. Still, bankruptcy can be avoided. They try to collect and then write it off.
