You know I am proud of my.... quote: Pluto in the Third House When you become interested in something, you try to get as deeply involved as possible. You want to understand its workings at a very profound level and from every point of view. Those who disagree with you will find it very hard to change your mind because you analyze ideas so thoroughly before arriving at an opinion. You are a born investigator. You are quite good at getting others to agree with you, as long as you do not try to force them. But if you state your point of view without trying to convince anyone, others will agree with you quite readily.
(from astro.com's AstroClick portrait)LOL at that last part. Obviously I am not good at getting people to agree with me. But the part about doing my research? Yes, I usually only give an opinion where I have done enough research to feel the opinion is warranted. IP: Logged |

quote: Mercury in Aquarius Your mind works in a highly original way. Also you are attracted to unusual, even fantastic, points of view about the world. You enjoy being unconventional and shocking people with your offbeat opinions. No ordinary standards of what is proper will prevent you from thinking a certain way. Many people with Mercury in Aquarius are very good at science and mathematics, because these subjects require thinking that is quick and original as well as accurate. Your mind is objective and clear, and you do not let your emotions influence you to do something that isn't logical. But don't let yourself believe that you have all the correct opinions. You may cling stubbornly to your own viewpoints, but try to see the merit in other people's beliefs as well.
I'm trying! Really I am. IP: Logged |

I forgot to flaunt the fact that my Very Special 3H Pluto is TRINE my Cool Aquarius Mercury. Boasting again: quote: Mercury-Pluto people enjoy slicing through superficiality to the real truth underneath, and always seem to know what's really going on. This is mainly due to their extremely acute perception if reality, and the gift of pursuing a train a thought with great mental concentration, without letting up. Those with Mercury trine Pluto have a sense of humour that is sharp and cutting and maybe even a little sarcastic, and they analyse situations in depth. When really interested in something the mind is focused, strong and committed, and there is considerable power of mental concentration, that rarely gives much away about what they are actually thinking.
http://theastrologyplace.blogspot.com/2012/05/mercury-trine-pluto.html And my Mercury is square Uranus almost exactly. Boasting more: quote: Brilliance. Genius. Flashes of intuition. Instant comprehension. Leaps in understanding. Skipping steps in the learning process. Skipping a grade. Lightning quick mind. Accelerated learning. Unconventional thought process. Bright ideas. Light bulb flashing over your head. “Eureka!” Crazy. Zany. Eccentric. Strange or absurd ideas. Bizarre conclusions. Kooky. Loony. Insane. Mad Hatter. Revolutionary thinking. Revolutionary ideas. Thinking outside the box..... People with Mercury/Uranus aspects: Bobby Fischer (chess Grandmaster): Mercury square Uranus
http://astrofix.net/2010/12/22/mercuryuranus-aspects/ Are you supersaturated with my boasting just yet? Me neither! But I will stop here. Even though I could go on indefinitely, as could anyone else in pursuit of astrological ego fodder. And anyone can draw up astrological profiles to match a specific image they are trying to project. If I wanted to prove I am very sensitive and compassionate to the point of self-effacement or self-destruction, I could do that very easily (Liz Greene seems to think I am nothing but emotional, which makes me wonder if her Psychological Profile is entirely based on moon sign...which in my case is Pisces.) But, in the context of this conversation, and to show you that I arrive at my ideas through a process more methodical than you have intuited, I present these astrological "proofs." I believe that I did well in school, sometimes blowing the bell curve, because of my Mercury and its beneficial aspects.

quote: I don't like being mislead with a partial analysis.
Yes, it is only partial analysis, but it's not misleading. I do have the gift of a clear, strong, and objective mind. I am a lover of truth. I do favor reason over chaos, and principles over personal reactions. Even in dealing with myself I'm that way. If I behave irrationally, I'll beat myself up over it. You suggest that since there's more, and since there's a shadow side, that this part isn't telling the whole story. It is nonetheless also true about me...at least as far as Liz Greene's auto-analysis goes. I have the actual report. "Although you may not be an intellectual in the conventional sense of the word, you are naturally quick and articulate, and possess an impressive capacity to assess, weigh, and analyse diverse facts and ideas objectively and fairly. This has probably earned you the reputation of being broad-minded, reflective, ethical and considerate of others' points of view. You are also an excellent planner and can transform chaos into order with the penetrating power of your mind." Part of what it says about my shadow implies that I need to be less stern with others, and allow them to see the depth of my emotional sensitivity and depth. I don't reject those things. I just do see it as my role in certain situations to raise the bar (GU seems to be the perfect place to challenge people to be more objective). That's why I've made so many concessions in looking at your views. I want to understand whether there's value there or not. Along the way, I want to question your process to ensure that your studies have indeed been adequate. You post your Pluto in the 3rd as evidence of your diligence, but the record of your diligence should probably be your ability defend what you're holding as true. The detrimental part of the report also says that I sacrifice my own emotional states to follow reason. "However, your deepest dilemma in life remains the troublesome world of the emotions, and your common sense and realism may combine with your strongly emphasized rationality to make you intolerant of the importance of the inner world."..."Try to take your eyes off the ground occasionally, so that you can discover that "inner" is just as real as "outer", and "subjective" just as valuable as "objective." I value what is objectively true, and I don't usually run into trouble with people speaking objectively. That was found under the heading, "Respect for reality enriches a clear mind." This is kind of funny. From the section about my Character & Shadow: "You are a great believer in the healing power of objective thought, and are convinced that if only human beings could be more reasonable, more in control of their chaotic emotions and more capable of a broad and impersonal viewpoint, life would be so much better, cleaner, and brighter." I'm just trying to heal the world through objectivity, that's all. Liz Greene has created a monster! Obviously I'm multifaceted. I do have an equally highly developed artistic side. I do have those pesky emotions. Moon conjunct Pluto with both also square Sun makes for some issues. There's ample reason to be humble in life.
