And it's not just them, all kinds of groups get hit with this. It's actually a challenge for the Rainbow Gatherings to find a place they won't be met right away by the authorities handing out tickets and arresting them for not having the right permits to gather. I expect the authorities (especially in Arizona) are much slower to react to Bible studies than they are hippies. Zoning laws exist for a reason (besides institutionalized bribery), as explained briefly in the part I quoted. I don't know about this time as FAUX didn't say (nor would I expect them to as they're even less credible than MSNBC) but in earlier cases like this the breaking point was when residents were unable to get into or exit their driveway because of thoughtless people parking in front of them (as there wasn't room, as the area wasn't properly zoned).  One could get arrested if they were holding Tupperware parties if zoning was in play or permits required. A Bible or a bowl is all the same when it comes to Laws or rules. ------------------

Actually, there's probably more to the story, because while zoning laws are jailable offenses, typically one will only receive a fine. Same as with traffic violations in many states. You get a ticket as a courtesy. You open your mouth, and you go to jail. Most states list traffic offenses as misdemeanors. IP: Logged |

Could be the repeat offender thing, or possibly something more. Maybe they got loud and rowdy when code enforcement showed up? All they have to do is get a permit. Or better yet, declare themselves a church and exempt the home from property taxes also!IP: Logged |

We are shifting from a Judeo-Christian country. We can only stay a democracy if there are such values at it's base.The founders said that our country could not stay free with immoral men at it's helm. That is why we are losing our freedoms
