Worth noting that MLK, whom conservatives continue to revere, believed that our military budget should be spent AT HOME HELPING the systematically impoverished people here. He was hugely against Vietnam, inspiring the quote I put up the other day about countries whose military budget surpassed their domestic social program budgets as "approaching spiritual death".

He was dead 9 months after this interview.

And then we have Rand Paul. The political analysis of this article doesn't interest me but his words re human rights to water, air and health care...do.

The twisted reasoning here beggars belief but so many believe it. Meanwhile "hands off business" means letting Nestle go ahead and "own" water supplies?

MLK "of all the inequalities in our society, that in healthcare is the most inhumane"

Despite this interview, where King deplores the violence that entered the movement to equality, he was hounded by Hoover and the FBI (with some acquiescence from RFK) in every way possible and blamed for encouraging the militant factions.

Divisiveness and paranoia are nothing new in America, nor is the intransigence and irresponsibility of the FBI and its sister orgs.
