You guys are hysterical, you know that? Lindaland was down for awhile recently, in fact yesterday it seemed to be out of service when i checked in here...

Are you going to snark at Randall for his incompetence next or admit that a new site with thousands of people trying to get on it is prone to glitching?

Yesterday I had to take a test for work online. The site has been up for years and serves about 3000 people. It took 8 attempts to complete because the server kept overloading.

So a rational person who knows anything about the web and wasn't grinding their hate axe might attribute the glitches on healthcare.gov to overwhelming response.

I don't hold my breath for either of you to take a rational approach to anything you have identified with Obama, though.

As you were. Oh and I have a song for you ami

You know, Faith called me passive aggressive the other day and I guess sometimes I am. It's kind of a survival skill around here where people are so PROUD of being HATERS that they can't hear what others are trying to say to them.

When I try to be straightforward all I get is grade school bullying so...why bother?

If you lot EVER got reasonable in your critiques or backed off the vile smear campaign for two minutes we might have found some common ground. But your scapegoating/lynch mentality completely misses the point.

And as I've been trying to say to Ami on another thread, it hurts you way more than it hurts Obama - or me.

"Perhaps you think this place should be glitch free then? Best tell Randall to pull his finger out, eh? Or hire some capitalists if he wants it run right!"...Catalina/katatonic

Last time I checked, this is a free site. O'BomberCare isn't free. Far from it.

Last time I checked, Randall isn't trying to make life altering decisions for you. O'BomberCare will be making decisions for Americans...choosing your doctors, choosing your level of medical services and finally, choosing your medical treatments...or deciding you won't be treated at all.

Last time I checked, you're free to enroll..be a member or not and there's no fine for choosing NOT. You're free to go. Under O'BomberCare YOU WILL comply...get insured and pay the premium..OR YOU WILL BE FINED by the IRS.

One last thing. Who the hell said the recent downtime had a single thing to do with anything Randall did...or didn't do?

The buck for the O'BomberCare mess stops on O'Bomber's desk. He pushed this Socialist healthcare mess off on America and it's time for O'Bomber to take his lumps.

Hourslong effort to sign up for health coverage ends emptyhanded
Written by
Shelley DuBois
The Tennessean

The federal health exchange is busted. At least it was for this 28-year-old, nonsmoking female Tennessean looking to sign up for coverage on day one of the exchange.

To be clear, I’m not eligible for federal subsidies because my employer, Gannett Co. Inc., offers coverage. But I wanted more, possibly cheaper choices. I’m who Obamacare opponents said wouldn’t sign up and who proponents said would, and I’m ready to subsidize some people with pre-existing conditions in exchange for, say, a fairly affordable MRI scan should I need one. Let’s do this thing.

By 9:33 a.m. Tuesday morning, I was ready to enroll. The healthcare.gov site looks good. It’s welcoming, full of images of smiling people. But when I enter my state as Tennessee and try to log in, I’m stalled.

“We have a lot of visitors on our site right now and we’re working to make your experience here better. Please wait here until we send you to the login page. Thanks for your patience!”

No problem, Government. I can wait a little bit along with my fellow Americans. By 9:38 a.m., I’ve made it to the login page, and by 9:42 a.m., it’s time to pick three security questions.

Here’s glitch No. 2: When I scrub the spaces where I’m supposed to choose from various security questions, it’s blank. To get things moving, I answer all of the phantom questions with “cookies” and click “Next.”

If that seems like a dangerous clue to drop because someone might hack my healthcare.gov account, the account didn’t make it past “cookies.” The next alert said, “Important. Your account could not be created at this time. The system is unavailable.”

Time to hit the phones. On the contact page of healthcare.gov, there’s a tab that says “Find local help.” I entered my ZIP code and pulled up the names of several places that should have resources. First on the list was the Nashville Academy of Medicine, which I called at 9:48 a.m. and was promptly and very politely put on hold.

“OK, ma’am,” said a nice lady at 9:51 a.m., “we have not been trained yet. We are listed on there, but we are not the appropriate people to help.” She recommended I call an organization called Health Assist.

So I did. “Unfortunately we don’t have any exact pricing information that’s ready right now,” said another kind person. If I wanted to enroll via phone, she said, I could call the federal assistance line.

By this point, it’s 10:06 a.m. I tried healthcare.gov again. Got kicked off. Figured that after about half an hour of messing around, it was time to call the government.

At 10:22 a.m., I got through to a person. Because of my age, she said, I might qualify for catastrophic coverage or Medicaid. I said thank you, but I’d love to know what my options were on the exchange. She tried to look. Unfortunately, her method for checking the online rates was the same one that had booted me off already.

“We do ask that you maybe want to go on healthcare.gov at a later time,” she said. Or she could mail me a paper application.

Did they have an electronic copy they could email me? No, she said. Snail mail or bust. All right, I said, but kept trying other, hopefully faster modes of enrollment. She gave me an address where I could meet someone face to face, she said, at 710 Spence Lane.

By this time, it was 10:33 a.m. I tried calling local “navigators,” or people trained to guide those of us seeking insurance through the exchange. I’ll skim the next part of the story, which involves a string of robots telling me that my call was very important, putting me on hold, then dropping the line.

At 11:19 a.m., I caught up on the government shutdown news and wondered if Tennessee navigators would be affected. Between the shutdown and the bill the state passed to limit who can qualify as a navigator, no wonder I had been talking to robots all day.

11:39 a.m.: No more robots, I was going to find a human being. I drove to the address from the lady on the government help line. Now, I understand that some help centers are up and running throughout the city, but this particular location was a vacant building next to a Holiday Inn Express. At 12:20 p.m., I exited the premises defeated and uninsured.

Tried to sign up again via website at 12:48 a.m. No dice.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services hosted a call that was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. and pushed back to 3:09 p.m.

“This is certainly a historic day for each of us,” said Marilyn Tavenner, CMS administrator. “Let me just start by saying that as of 8 a.m. this morning, the Marketplace is open for business and will stay open.”

After a few more positive sentences from the CMS, reporters bombarded Tavenner and her colleagues mostly with questions about why CMS hasn’t released numbers of how many people had successfully enrolled and why the exchange wasn’t working in various states. The answers from CMS administrators were, roughly, one, we don’t know accurate numbers yet and two, we’re doing the best we can.

CMS said the site was fixed, but I tried during the call and it was still down.

At the end of the call, Tavenner said that everybody should remember that people signing up on the exchange have until Dec. 15 to get coverage that begins Jan. 1. “This is day one of a process,” she said. “We’re in a marathon, not a sprint, and we need your help.”

After hanging up with CMS, Katie from United Neighborhood Health Services, called me at 3:21 p.m. — I had left a message with the center earlier in the day. She was locked out from the website too, she said, and the phone enrollment system wasn’t really working. Some Tennesseans successfully signed up early in the morning before the rest of us woke up, she added, and recommended that I try the site after the initial novelty wore off. Should I need any help going forward, I can call her on her cell.

That’s a wrap for day one of exchange enrollment. The search continues.

Even friends of the Marxist Messiah O'Bomber who are and have been pushing his Socialist health care program can't make it through the sign up minefield of O'BomberCare.

It's time for O'Bomber to climb down off his hobbyhorse, admit O'BomberCare isn't ready for prime time and take House Republican's offer to delay the individual mandate for a year. But, the Marxist Messiah isn't smart enough to do that.

So, jwhop, have you told Apple they need to get with capitalism too? Apparently their new phones make people sick.

You'd think after all these years they'd have figured out how to make their products perfect before they hit the market, huh? Or maybe they should just go freebie like Lindaland and no one would care...

Oh, i forgot, people buy their stuff no matter how msny glitches are publicized...is that why the Republicans are so afraid to let the ACA trot out?

Interesting but makes no difference. The suggestion that glitches do not happen on any part of the digital spectrum are rubbish whether you change the goalposts/categories or not.

Whether the service is essential, mandatory, or purely for pleasure, whether free or attached to a paid service (the website IS free, by the way and there are other ways to access the program than online)

Makes no difference. Glitches happen, and the higher the volume on a server the more likely they are. Are you going to pretend otherwise?

No, people don't have to buy Apple, but glitches n all, they do. They don't consider it a game ender and they have paid big money for their gadgets. Which not only do not contribute to their health but detract from it according to YOUR post, Randall.

NOTHING TO DO WITH CAPITALISM OR SOCIALISM IS IT?

I can't believe the posts here.

You Conservatives are actually trying to criticize Obamacare by citing trouble with the website? Wouldn't these issues solely be the result of people clamoring to get Obamacare?

This is as stupid as trying to defund Obamacare. You don't criticize something by implying how great it is.

The sign-up rate for those determined enough to wait to get on the exchange sites is about 1%. Not exactly the clamoring for O'BomberCare you want to project. Further, there could be a thousand reasons why the exchange sites are down but if you're looking for a "sole" reason, my money is on total incompetence by O'Bomber and his people.

Cause and effect are not your strong suits acoustic. Though come to think of it, you've not demonstrated any strong suits here.

Yes AG, as per the instructions of the Heritage Foundation, all good Republicans must demonize the president and anything to do with him to distract from the dissension within their own ranks.

Unfortunately for them every scandal and slagging fest they come up with is exposed as hot air. Like the
benghazi emails that were completely misread by those who trumpetted them.

Like the IRS "targetting" tea partiers although the evidence plainly stated that of 200 entities investigated only 70 were conservatives.

And like making a stink about the website as if none of them knows technology recognizes no political parties or ideologies and websites when overloaded suffer from glitches.

You would almost believe that the Internet doesn't exist in socialist countries. How could it, all those stupid people?

It's all about putting all the voodoo on the President as a complete distraction from a) how the government actually works and b) how unfit to run anything the Republicans are.

Oh that terrible, terrible letter from the Heritage Foundation.

"Make no mistake, principled conservatives will still oppose bad policy if it comes to the floor."

Yeah, how terrible that principled Representatives would oppose bad policy!

"Rather than scheduling such legislation for consideration, we urge you to keep the attention focused squarely on the Obama administration."

Why the hell should "bad legislation" be scheduled for a vote? And, why shouldn't focus be kept directly on the source of such bad legislation...the little Marxist Messiah, O'Bomber.

As the public’s trust in their government continues to erode, it is incumbent upon those of us who support a smaller, less intrusive government to lead."

Of course trust in the federal government has eroded, why is that?

Could it be O'Bomber using a TRILLION DOLLARS of taxpayer funds to pay back his campaign supporters...Solyndra comes to mind, unions come to mind when that money was supposed to jump start the economy by funding "shovel ready infrastructure projects". Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be that after 5 years of the Marxist Messiah's reign there are fewer Americans working than when O'Bomber began infesting the White House? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be that O'Bomber has driven more Americans onto Food Stamps in US history and driven more Americans below the poverty level than at any time since the 1970s? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber and his ass clowns setting up, funding and then running guns across the border to Mexican drug cartels in violation of both US and International law? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber and Hillary refusing to beef up security for Embassy staff in Libya which resulted to the Ambassador's murder by al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists..along with 3 other staff personnel...then blaming a video, claiming that was the cause? Oh, and not one of those terrorists has been arrested, even though we have known for almost a year who and where they are. Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be the NSA, directed by O'Bomber, snooping into American citizens emails, telephone calls and social media postings? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber calling a terrorist attack and murders on a US military base.."work place violence"? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber using the machinery of government...the IRS, to punish political opponents? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber and his ass clowns in the demoscat controlled Congress passing O'BomberCare which the majority of Americans oppose, effectively cramming his Socialist health care down America's throat..without a single Republican vote? Naw, that couldn't be a reason.

Could it be O'Bomber and his ass clowns in the demoscat congress have lost the consent of Americans to govern?

"Huge Majority of Americans Do Not Believe Federal Government Has The “Consent of the Governed”"

Rasmussen Reports, one of the most respected and accurate polling organizations in the country, now provides proof of what many of us have long known – the vast majority of Americans do not believe that the federal government has the consent of the governed.

The notion that governments derive their only just authority from the consent of the governed is a foundational principle of the American experiment.

However, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 23% of voters nationwide believe the federal government today has the consent of the governed. Sixty-two percent (62%) say it does not, and 15% are not sure.
http://itsnotjustme.com/huge-majority-of-americans-do-not-believe-federal-government-has-the-consent-of-the-governed/

Naw, that couldn't be it. Americans don't give a damn what the ass clown O'Bomber and his Socialist comrades are doing to America.

Now, as for the US House running committees to "Oversee" the Executive Branch..O'Bomber is faithfully executing the laws Congress passes...THAT'S ONE OF THEIR MOST IMPORTANT CONSTITUTIONAL JOBS. And, they have the full, express authority of the US Constitution to do so.

Just the usual shuck and jive here by O'Bomber Kool-Aid drinkers, his Mushroom Brigades and of course...the usual suspects.

O'BomberCare should be renamed.....The O'Bomber Abomination. It's that bad.

Tenn. TV Station Can't Find Anyone Who Has Successfully Signed Up for Obamacare
8:56 AM, Oct 3, 2013
By DANIEL HALPER

WSMV in Tennessee was unable to find a single person who successfully signed up for Obamacare:

"We're hearing not a single person locally has been successful getting through to the new health insurance exchange," said a local reporter. "It seems to be a problem especially in states like Tennessee, where the state opted out and left it up to the federal government to run what is essentially an online shopping site."

The other reporter comes on screen and adds, "Again, as you just said, no one in Tennessee that I know of, according to the counselors I've talked to, has been able to successfully negotiate that federal website."

So here's a television station trolling in Tennessee for anyone who has signed up for the O'Bomber Abomination...and they can't find a single one.
