We knew this was a drama for form only. The ACA was never really the issue was it?

After 42 attempts, it was clear that wasn't gonna happen.

What did happen? The narrative such as it is changed.

The demands changed.

So meanwhile, for much of the year, this is what we talk about, instead of moving foreward, we are spiraling backward, now the default will happen too. Happy Holidays for all, each and every one.

All of that talk from R's--
jobs, jobs, jobs.
Now they have blocked hundreds of thousands of people from going to work.

Congress should have deferred payroll checks, starting last week.

Apparenty their bosses, the Kochs, are not pleased w the results. The ACA has actually picked up "favourable" points in the latest wsj/nbc poll...and the republicsns are seen as to blame.

All those radio stations (and tv) and people still haven't bought the Rebels' version oh dear.

What's a brainwasher to do?

Send instructions to the go-fors to switch focus back onto those "entitlement" programs the elderly have paid into for years and make the govt look bad for letting them down. We should all have to go begging for our money to philanthropists like the Kochs, not EXPECT the deal to be honoured!

Of course this is not a new goalpost, just freshly painted while people were distracted by the ACA FIASCO

Yes, what is an overlord to do?

"entitlements" Yes I am entitled to receive funds I have paid into all of my working life. You say the funds are gone, you say you misplaced, or borrowed from them? You say you cannot afford me any more>?

Pay it back brothers. Your Billions are not enough for you?
Food stamps are for the leaches? They only buy lobster with those...

Interestingly, lobster [and oysters] were once the food of the poor. So prevalent, so abundant that the poor ate them.

How do our poverty rates stack up to the rest of the world> ?

Child poverty is worse in few countries. The United States has poverty rates comparable to third world countries. If you are a woman, or a child, or elderly, you have a 40% chance to be living in poverty in the U.S.

I would love to show you some census data I reviewed last week, but the census bureau is down for the "slim down"

here is one tho:

Latvia is pretty good compared to the land of milk and honey.

Just sharing (as opposed to endorsing) as that made me laugh so hard I almost cried.

I saw that, PJ, not sure it was the same options but it's a good'un! And with all the glitches, in the ACA and elsewhere (17 states had glitches in the Foodstamp system supposedly all run by different contractors in each state), extra ironic.

Cone to think of it it's the Perfect time for a cyber attack if ever there was (not endorsing that either)

Thanks to the Marxist Messiah O'Bomber who has put more families on food stamps than any president in US history.

Thanks to the Marxist Messiah O'Bomber who has dropped more families below the poverty level than at any time since the 1970's.

Thanks to the "job killer" Marxist Messiah O'Bomber whose insane policies are getting people laid off or getting their hours cut to part time.

Thanks to the Marxist Messiah whose economy still has fewer Americans working than when he began infesting the White House.

Time to lay the Marxist Messiah O'Bomber off and put him on food stamps.

Jwhop you are a genius when it comes to ignoring data. The vast majority of the countries above us on thst list habe healthcare, foodstamp type prograns, housing programs and msny of them also subsidize education thru college.

Then again their govts don't spend all thrir working hours trying to repeal those programs either

Yeah, well we calculate poverty rates differently in the US than other nations.

Same for death rate information.

Oh, and I don't give a rat's ass what people in other nations do...so long as they don't do it to us. You wanna go join in the healthcare fun somewhere else then I'll wave goodbye from the shores of America.

As for O'Bomber's Abomination, the majority of Americans have had it right...from the beginning. The majority didn't want the Socialist O'Bomber's Abomination...and still don't, don't want single payer style Socialist health care either

Rational people realize there's no free lunch, no free health care either. Now, they're finding out...when they can get on the exchange sites...there's no free health care. So all the freebie seekers get exactly what they deserve.

Funny. Call yourself American and ignore the fact that people voted for a platform that clearly included healthcare as opposed to one that didn't...tsk tsk.

You may not care what others do but you insist that their superior performance on ALL measures of poverty has nothing to do with their policies and lifestyles.

The freedom to hog the WHOLE pie is paramount.

Fraid that just doesn't wash anymore. Capitalism w/out regulation ultimately results in consolidation of wealth whuch brings in the reaction, by vote or violence. Of course too much "socialism"also brings turnaround, but we've been going in thr opposite direction for decades now and pullback happens.

You csn fool some of the people all the time, for sure, but not most.
