Just 14 percent of Americans now hold a favorable view of the tea party, down from 18 percent as the government shutdown began, and unfavorable views are up 7 points. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57608603/poll-congress-tea-party-take-hits-from-government-shutdown/ IP: Logged |

I knew the tea party was taking a hit over the shut down but was quite suprised by how much quote: Sixty percent of Americans don't think the Tea Party reflects the views of most Americans, but the movement's backers don't feel they hold a minority view - in fact, the opposite: As with many groups, tea party supporters think their own views are held by most Americans.

Alan Grayson...Rep from Orlando FL is taking a lot of heat for comparing the Tea Party to the KKK.Of course, Alan Grayson is a horse's ass but he's typical of leftist morons who spout drivel and nonsense. For instantce, leftist morons don't know the KKK was a demoscat institution with it's Grand Poobah being Robert KKK Byrd...the demoscat Speaker of the US House of Representatives. No leftists, don't thank me for informing you of your numerous errors. I consider it a "public service" to rub your leftist noses in your own vomit. IP: Logged |

Yes in the days before the Dem southerners moved over to the Republican side rather than support the civil rights acts, that was true, jwhop. And it's true a lot of people aren't old enough to remember that and didn't pay attention in history. There are also people who don't even know the ACA exists. I met one the other day. But many of us know well enough that your little omissions in fact are noted and we wonder why you bother. Grayson's comparison more likely referred to the fondness for confederate flags displayed by teapartiers, than which tag they wear at the voting poll. IP: Logged |

"Yes in the days before the Dem southerners moved over to the Republican side rather than support the civil rights acts"...Catalina/katonicHow about your own omissions Catalina/katatonic? Why didn't you tell the simple truth about Republicans? There was a higher percentage of Republicans voting for the Voting Rights Act and Civil Rights Act than demoscat voters. FACT! It's also fact that Robert KKK Byrd was voted Speaker of the House...by demoscats numerous times over the years and Robert KKK Byrd was a Grand Poobah of the KKK...demoscat by the way. I'm sure Tea Party members are not amused by lying Socialists calling them racists...among the other lies about them. While those lying charges may make Socialists feel good...in the moment, Tea Parties are gearing up all across America to deliver a crotch kick to big government Socialists of both parties in the November 2014 elections. Let's see who has the last laugh! Ted Cruz has it right. IP: Logged |

LOL YES OF COURSE THERE WERE. Because the Southern Dems were still Dems at the time, until they realized they couldn't stonewall the Civil Rights acts like their modern counterparts, now in the REPUBLICAN party, are doing with Obamacare and EVERYTHING Obama tries to accomplish..IP: Logged |

According to Byrd, a Klan official told him, "You have a talent for leadership, Bob ... The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation." Byrd later recalled, "Suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities! I was only 23 or 24 years old, and the thought of a political career had never really hit me. But strike me that night, it did."[11] Byrd became a recruiter and leader of his chapter.[11] When it came time to elect the top officer (Exalted Cyclops) in the local Klan unit, Byrd won unanimously.[11]In 1997, Byrd told an interviewer he would encourage young people to become involved in politics but also: "Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don't get that albatross around your neck. Once you've made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena."[21] In his last autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a KKK member because he "was sorely afflicted with tunnel visiona jejune and immature outlookseeing only what I wanted to see because I thought the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions."[22] Byrd also said, in 2005, "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."[11] However, when running for the United States House of Representatives in 1952, he announced "After about a year, I became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization. During the nine years that have followed, I have never been interested in the Klan." Byrd was a man who could change as he learned about life. He found a better place for his leadership qualities.

Are you that lacking in historical grounding?"LOL YES OF COURSE THERE WERE. Because the Southern Dems were still Dems at the time, until they realized they couldn't stonewall the Civil Rights acts like their modern counterparts, now in the REPUBLICAN party, are doing with Obamacare and EVERYTHING Obama tries to accomplish.."...Catalina/katatonic The Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act only passed because of Republican support...a higher percentage of Republican support than demoscat support. Without the massive Republican support, there would have been no Civil Rights Act or Voting Rights Act. O'Bomber is a zero, his policies are nonsense, don't work, can't work and won't work. Of course conservative Republicans...conservative demoscats too...should oppose O'Bomber's job destroying policies, his economy destroying policies and his American healthcare destroying policies. Every rational American...accidental Americans excluded...should oppose O'Bomber's Socialist nonsense. IP: Logged |
