Like many Americans I am a car junkie.
I remember asking my dad as a tot, "will cars still be here when I can drive?"I watch top gear religiously, and dream of owning/ driving various cars.  So, I read with great interest the following story on Huff Po.
On Nov 22nd it will be 50 years since the assassination.
It details the build of the JFK '61 Lincoln, and what happened to it following. To many, this one act signaled the end of American innocence. I agree. for those interested here is the link->

For years I read every book on the conspiracy of his assassination I could get my hands on.From wacky to plausable and finally, imho, the closest to truth as written by Jim Marrs in Crossfire But the limo, not so much. I always felt squeamish looking at the pics because as a kid ,I recall the chatter of "brain matter" and that alone made the car off limits. I always wondered who is watching Top Gear to keep it in the ratings hogging the good programming. 
Please don`t tell me you watched that awful cussing duo Paul Sr & Jr too.. yeah, I live with a motor head ------------------

Juni~ Top Gear is some fine programming. Who doesn't like watching a cadre of geezers spinning around the track. Seriously, It's great fun and even the hamster has a fine sense of humor.Two of their shows were more than about cars, and great adventure. The Arctic show, and the African show.
Thanks for the heads up on Jim Marrs. I'll see if the library has it. And what, o- psychic one in my post leads you to believe I am NOT Canadian? Thanks AG, I will look for that on amazon for the title, and then if the Library will have it soon. Sounds like a coffee table book [large w/ glossy photos] and expensive. @ juni, yes, brain matter is a shudder phrase. I don't think Lyndon Johnson ever felt comfortable in the car, who would? Crazily, when I first looked at it it appeared to already have bullet holes in it...reflections of headlights apparently on closer inspection...but eerie, especially since in those days we didn't drive with our headlights on sunny days...IP: Logged |
