DUH! It's obvious as to the "concensus" driving grant money.IP: Logged |

No doubt there are honest people on both sides. I do believe that many in the green movement are sincere, although the movement itself is actually about power, exerting control, and money.IP: Logged |

Not wanting to get overly-dramatic with religious doctrine, as there are so many diverse opinions on the matter, but for those who believe in a Higher Power, it's really quite as simple as this: God's hand is on the thermostat. How pompous of man to think that we have any control over the warming or cooling of the Earth. We cannot cause it. And we cannot stop it. The same goes for solar activity, which is the primary driver of temps on Earth. Hearing alarmists proclaim that the Sun does not afrect the earth's temps is the most ludicrous thing ever uttered by so-called scientists. I guess in their religion, absolutely any irrational proclamation is fine as long as it furthers their agenda. And that, to them, is "science." IP: Logged |

It's not obvious. I've never seen anything even trying to prove that grant money is tied to backing a certain outcome in the science. quote: No doubt there are honest people on both sides.
quote: How pompous of man to think that we have any control over the warming or cooling of the Earth.
In theory, that makes sense. However, man has a history of doing "impossible" things. We couldn't fly for the longest time either, but we can now. quote: Hearing alarmists proclaim that the Sun does not afrect the earth's temps is the most ludicrous thing ever uttered by so-called scientists.
That's not what scientists say. They don't make any such proclamations. They only say that the Sun didn't cause the extraordinary warming that occurred. There is no religion in science. Religion is more akin to your side (as the theory you started your post with bears out). If God's hand is on the thermostat, then you have a faith system around the subject. IP: Logged |

Extraordinary warming? Surely, you jest! It's nothing that hasn't occurred before in the past, and it is well within the range of normal variability. Furthermore, it's to be expected (and welcomed) with us coming out of a little ice age. One could certainly argue that the alarmists models are based on faith, since the predictions didn't pan out, yet they continue on with their flawed calculations. That's why we call it the climate change religion. They have faith that their models will work, despite them never having worked. IP: Logged |
