Reagan Best President, O'Bomber Worst President in last 70 years.

July 2, 2014
Gipper tops poll of best presidents since WW2: Obama worst
Rick Moran

A new poll by Quinnipiac shows that Americans believe President Obama to be the worst president since World War II. The poll showed people thought that Ronald Reagan was the best.

Might the scales finally be falling from America's eyes?

Reuters:

In a survey of 1,446 registered voters, 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War Two, while 28 percent pointed to his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the worst, the poll by Quinnipiac University found.

Voters were split over which of the two most recent presidents has done a better job with 39 percent saying Obama has been a better president than Bush and, 40 percent saying Obama is worse.

Most voters said Ronald Reagan, who served two terms in the 1980s, was the best president since 1945, the survey showed.

"Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of Quinnipiac University's polling unit.

While Obama's job approval rating has inched higher to 40 percent, up from 38 percent in December, more voters gave him largely negative marks in key areas: the economy, foreign policy, healthcare and terrorism, according to the poll.

On the environment, 50 percent gave Obama positive marks.

The telephone survey, taken June 24 to June 30, had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.

Admittedly, our presidents since the end of the world war have been no great shakes. Truman had courage, but was done in by a very deep post war recession. Eisenhower was a good, solid president who presided over a booming economy. Kennedy didn't serve long enough, but gets poor marks for escalating our involvement in Vietnam and beginning the vast expansion of government. LBJ, Nixon, Ford, and Carter were the worst 4 presidents in a row since Taylor, Fillmore, Pierce, and Buchanan leading up to the Civil War.

Reagan's legacy is sealed as a result of his confronting the Soviets, but the rest of his presidency awaits the judgment of history. George Bush 41 is already forgotten. Bill Clinton? A disgrace to the office whose policies, again, await history's judgment.

The complicated legacy of George Bush 43 is already being viewed with nostalgia. He has the best chance of all recent presidents to see a revision of his presidency in the eyes of historians.

Obama is as myopic as Carter, as incompetent as Ford, as devious as Nixon, and as eager to grow government as LBJ. He's right where he belongs; dead last among recent presidents.

Obama’s the worst president since WWII; Updated
Posted on July 02 2014
Doug Brady

Via Quinnipiac University:

President Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, 33 percent of American voters say in a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Another 28 percent pick President George W. Bush.

And who’s the best president since WWII? I’ll give you three guesses and the first two don’t count:

Ronald Reagan is the best president since WWII, 35 percent of voters say, with 18 percent for Bill Clinton, 15 percent for John F. Kennedy and 8 percent for Obama, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. Among Democrats, 34 percent say Clinton is the best president, with 18 percent each for Obama and Kennedy.

There are undoubtedly many factors which explain these numbers, but if I had to pick one, it would be the economy. Both Obama and Reagan inherited a bad economy. But despite Obama’s constant whining about the bad economy he "inherited" from George Bush, the macroeconomic conditions at the outset of his presidency were not as bad as what Reagan confronted, a point I made in a post three years ago:

Obama, of course, blames everything on Bush and still tries to claim that he inherited a bad economy. Fair enough on the later: He did inherit a bad economy. However, it was certainly no worse than the mess Reagan inherited from Jimmy Carter. Indeed by any objective measure, what Reagan began with was far worse as the following chart, produced by Mark Perry of the American Enterprise Institute, makes clear:

The big difference, of course, is in the policies Obama and Reagan pursued to get the economy back on track. Reagan lowered tax rates, reduced government red tape, and put his faith in the free market. Obama did precisely the opposite, placing his faith in higher taxes, higher energy prices, and an ever-expanding bureaucracy. It’s not surprising, then, that the two achieved opposite results. The following chart compares the first 8 quarters of the Reagan Recovery with the Obama "Recovery".

Despite Obama’s multiple "pivots" back to the economy, things have not improved noticeably. Whatever drop we’ve seen in the topline U-3 unemployment rate has been due to the drop in the labor force participation rate which is now at its lowest rate since, ahem, Jimmy Carter was president. Given all this, it’s not difficult to understand why the public rates Obama as the worst president in the post-war era and Reagan, by a 2-1 margin, the best. It’s the economy, stupid.

Good question from the New York Post:

Is it really any wonder that given a choice between Reagan’s strength and small government and Obama’s weakness and “smart” government, even today Reagan handily wins a contest for the presidency?

Move over Jimmy Carter!

Move Over Jimmy Carter: Obama Most Unpopular President Since World War II
Ben Smith on 7.3.14

A poll released by Quinnipiac University this morning has some devastating numbers for President Obama. The title of the poll, “Obama is First as Worst President Since WWII,” says it all, but let’s look at some of the other numbers.

According to Quinnipiac, Ronald Reagan is seen as the best president since World War II, with 35 percent taking that view. Reagan almost doubled Clinton’s 18 percent, with JFK trailing close behind Clinton at 15 percent. When you break down the results, the independent vote makes the difference, with 66 percent of Reagan’s support coming from that block. Meanwhile, Clinton’s support tends to be more partisan, with 34 percent of his vote coming from Democrats.

Who's the worst president since World War II? Obama at 33 percent comes in first place with a highly partisan 64 percent of his votes coming from Republicans. Yet even with that, he still gets a healthy 36 percent from independents. Obama beats his predecessor George W. Bush by almost five points and beats both Nixon and Carter by even wider margins (Nixon at 13 percent and Carter at 8 percent). It doesn't bode well for Obama's legacy when the man he was portrayed as the antithesis of is polling better than he is.

And there's more damaging news for the administration:

Obama has been a better president than George W. Bush, 39 percent of voters say, while 40 percent say he is worse.

American voters say 54 - 44 percent that the Obama Administration is not competent running the government. The president is paying attention to what his administration is doing, 47 percent say, while 48 percent say he does not pay enough attention.

He gets a negative 47 - 51 percent for leadership qualities.

In addition, respondents were asked about the 2012 election:

America would be better off if Republican Mitt Romney had won the 2012 presidential election, 45 percent of voters say, while 38 percent say the country would be worse off.

Would Mitt have been a better fit? More voters in hindsight say yes.

Lastly, Obama gets negatives by double digits in handling the economy, foreign policy, and health care. His numbers on terrorism are also underwater. The only positive for Obama comes from his environmentalist policies, of which 50 percent of voters approve.

Move over Jimmy Carter. Malaise 2.0 has arrived.

I'm beginning to think you weren't held as a child and they should change the name of this category to "jwhop please please look at me give me attention". Don't know why I am even responding and caving to that sentiment, move on with your life man.

It must be terrible for you...and other usual suspects and O'Bomber Kool-Aid drinkers to read the opinions of the majority of Americans who have come to the conclusion that your Marxist Messiah O'Bomber is the worst president and an utter failure in every area of presidential governance.

You could have responded to the polls with coherent arguments but in O'Bomber Kool-Aid drinker fashion, you tried to shoot the messenger...and missed.

I noticed your posts have gone down, no new topics in a little while...you're getting there baby steps, you can do it. As far as responding to the polls, do you actually think people read through these posts? Besides I can read the first five words and the last five words and pretty much fill in the blanks from there. Everybody knows the best president wasn't Dick Cheney anyway.

Make sure you get out there and vote, Hillary 16..Bill Clinton, first gentlemen..has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

Still stumbling around in the wilderness I see....and you still haven't responded in any rational coherent way to make an argument in favor of your views.

Btw, Ronald Reagan polled twice as strong as best president than did Kommander Korruption...aka, William Jefferson Clinton.

Just as Hillary was no lady and made a farce of the title "First Lady", Kommander Korruption is no "gentleman". Rape, sexual assault and adultery disqualify Kommander Korruption.

Probably best not to chime in and give him attention but thanks for the backup, he was about to respond two maybe three or four times in a row to his own post because the attention was starting to wane. Who posts and then posts twice more about their own post when it gets no responses...jwhop that's who.

Glad to see the B&B...Bilge and Bile crowd has showed up...and as usual, not a word of backup..as in documentation for what's being said.

These O'Bomber droolers and Kool-Aid drinkers just can't get their minds around the truth about their little Marxist Messiah.

Barack Hussein O'Bomber is the worst president in US history. He's a total incompetent, narcissistic boob who fails every test of presidential governance.

The "Drooler Brigade" can't bear to hear the truth about their Marxist Messiah. TS babies!

You're not a purveyor of the truth, Jwhop. Never have been.

In a survey of 1,446 registered voters (from nine states only), 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War Two

In what universe is 33% of 1,446 [477] registered voters considered to be "the majority of Americans"?

You notice that Obama was virtually [definitely statistically] tied with Bush (Bush, who has had the benefit of being out of office six years now)?

In a survey of 1,446 registered voters, 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War Two, while 28 percent pointed to his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the worst, the poll by Quinnipiac University found.

Voters were split over which of the two most recent presidents has done a better job with 39 percent saying Obama has been a better president than Bush and, 40 percent saying Obama is worse. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/02/us-usa-obama-poll-idUSKBN0F716P20140702

No one need save Obama over this opinion poll, nor over your own opinion on the matter.

The July 8th poll of their's finds people hate Democrats less in the House race.

Yeah, a vote was taken and O'Bomber was voted worst president since WWII. He beat out Nixon and Carter for the honor of WORST.

On the other hand, Ronald Reagan was voted BEST PRESIDENT, beating out JFK and Kommander Korruption, aka Bill Clinton for the honor.

A meaningless vote involving the smallest of fractions of the voting public? Great.
