Here's just a few attributes of leftists.

Illogical
Irrational
Unreasonable

It also explains the bungling incompetence of the doper Barack Hussein O'Bomber.

Study sheds light on damaging effects of marijuana among college-aged adults
August 18, 2014

MANASSAS, Va. – As support for legalized recreational marijuana use increases, some have warned that there is presently little research indicating the effects of low to moderate use of the drug. However, the results of a small but sobering study released in April by several Boston-based researchers have shed light on the damaging effects of even casual use of the drug among young adults, according to the Society for Neuroscience.

The results of the study may hold import for colleges and universities, which struggle perennially with binge drinking, drug use, and the subsequent host of negative decisions.

The study, published in The Journal of Neuroscience, which compared high-resolution MRI brain scans of recreational marijuana users aged 18 to 25 with those of nonusers, found significant abnormalities in the left nucleus accumbens and the left amygdala of marijuana users, even those who smoked just once per week. These regions of the brain are responsible for pleasure and reward, processing memory, emotional reactions, and the assessment of negative consequences.

Previously, the only existing studies on the subject had applied to those who smoked excessively—for example, once per day for approximately three years. This study targets those who smoke only a few times per week.

From a moral standpoint, Dr.Taylor Marshall has made a Thomistic argument against the use of marijuana, asserting that it inexcusably inhibits man’s most God-like faculty—rationality—thus diminishing users to the level of beasts. He distinguishes it from alcohol, the effects of which can be graduated, and from medical use of marijuana and similar drugs. He ultimately concludes that its use is immoral. Even his critics, who consider the effects of marijuana to be as graduated as those of alcohol, concede that the drug’s recreational use is not altogether benign.

Scientists agree that while the study examined only a small sample, its results encourage deeper study and a greater dissemination of information. “There is this general perspective out there that using marijuana recreationally is not a problem —that it is a safe drug,” said co-author of the study, Anne Blood, in a News.Micarticle. “We are seeing that this is not the case.”

It is yet to be seen whether the expected growth in research on the topic may begin to curtail some of the marijuana use that has been on the rise since the mid-1990s.

no mention of whether the brains were different before/after...? seems a pretty lopsided study by someone who feels marijuana is bad.

apparently whatever you are "addicted" to your brain will change somewhat...different substances, different changes, but whether that makes people incapable of anything is pretty much an individual thing.

you should see what alcohol does to the brain bwahahaha....AND the liver, kidneys, heart and pancreas...

You sure this is a "leftists" article

Illogical: Repeated calls to sue or impeach the president when supposed leaders and higher ups in your own party say it won't happen and a waste of time and taxpayer money.

Irrational: B*tch wine and cry about illegal children cross over into the county and then shoot down legislation to stop it and more-so come up with your own bill without enough money to combat the problem with a silver lined single interests attached to the bill to make sure it won't go anywhere.

Unreasonable: Shut down the federal government because of our own self interests, obstructionist radical tea party wing and overall disregard for serving the American public constructively.

Sounds strongly right wing, not much you can say or tell me or others otherwise.

We know leftists believe marijuana is good...a better high than alcohol.

But studies are now revealing that marijuana...especially when smoked by the young has disastrous neurological effects.

The doper O'Bomber is the perfect example.

"Illogical: Repeated calls to sue or impeach the president when supposed leaders and higher ups in your own party say it won't happen and a waste of time and taxpayer money."

Who says the so called higher ups in the republican party are right? Whenever a president crosses the line, violates the US Constitution, breaches his oath of office and generally tries to assume the powers of a petty little banana republic dictator, he or she should be impeached. If for no other reason than to deter future wannabe dictators.

"Irrational: B*tch wine and cry about illegal children cross over into the county and then shoot down legislation to stop it and more-so come up with your own bill without enough money to combat the problem with a silver lined single interests attached to the bill to make sure it won't go anywhere."

Another instance where your little Marxist Messiah is way over the line. O'Bomber is charged with enforcing US laws. In the case of Immigration law, he's absent without leave. Further, he's attempting to re-write immigration law without the consent of Congress. He's a lawless little twit and on this issue alone, he should be impeached, convicted and removed from his infestation of the White House.

"Unreasonable: Shut down the federal government because of our own self interests, obstructionist radical tea party wing and overall disregard for serving the American public constructively."

What utter crap! Republicans control 1/2 of Congress and only 1/3rd of the legislative and executive branches of government.

It's impossible for Republicans, who only control the US House of Representatives to have "SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT".

It wasn't the Republican House of Representatives which sent out those notices to federal workers to stay home....and draw their usual salaries.

Those notices were sent out by Barack Hussein O'Bomber...backed up by Hairy Reid who refused to bring any of the budget solutions passed by the Republican House to a vote in the US Senate.

Let no more be heard about Republicans shutting down the government.

That was done by Hairy Reid and Barack Hussein O'Bomer....and, they did it for political hackery reasons....and perhaps because their brain cells are so scrambled they don't know which end is up!

http://www.kbzk.com/news/paul-ryan-i-kept-quiet-during-government-shutdown-for-party-unity/

Not what your buddy Paul Ryan said,
"the Republican attempt to defund Obamacare by shutting down the government was "a suicide mission"

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/house-senate-government-shutdown-97557.html

"as House Republicans continue to insist on changing, delaying or defunding Obamacare as the price for keeping the government open"

Like usual Republican lawmakers wasting tax payer money and causing unnecessary harm to the country over their own short sided agendas. The government reopened without their kill Obambacare stance meaning a wasted effort, harm to common day Americans (people they could care less about except for a vote) and oh yeah a downgrade in the nations credit rating...all for what??? Your insinuation that Reid and Obama somehow caused this while taking bong hits in the backroom is total utter lunacy, check yourself into to a clinic before you start wielding fire arms in the street or some other rash lunatic measure.

repubs love their pot

Newt Gingrich - “See, when I smoked pot it was illegal but not immoral."

Arnold Schwarzenegger - You can watch him taking hits in the old Pumping Iron doc!

Clarence Thomas - Per White house spokesperson when nominated for the Supreme Court

just a few that come to mind. Plenty of notable Republicans have called for the legalization of marijuana, too. George Schultz and William Buckley, for instance.

You're beating a dead horse when you attempt to portray Ryan as my "buddy".

I wouldn't vote for Ryan is he were nominated for the republican presidential candidate. Ditto for the other republican establishment RINOS.

You just couldn't be more wrong...as a matter of facts than you are when you say republicans shut down the government.

Republicans submitted a budget proposal...all spending bills MUST originate in the US House of Representatives...Hairy Reid declined to bring that spending bill up in the Senate and your Marxist Messiah threatened to VETO the bill if it passed in the Senate.

Hairy Reid and the Marxist Messiah shut down the government. There was no bill passed in the House to shut down the government. That's just the blither, blather, bloviation and bullshiiit spread by brain dead moron leftists trying to score political points.

Not one rational person on earth believes the US House of Representatives has the power or the authority to shut down the Federal government of the United States.

All those notices to executive branch employees to stay home...not report for work...originated in the White House at the direction of the Marxist Messiah...O'Bomber.

Those are the FACTS.

shura, are you suggesting Gingrich, Schwarzenegger and Clarence Thomas don't have scrambled brains? I thought that was part of the far left belief system!
