Tuesday, 24 Feb 2015 The Virginia legislature has passed a bill that, if signed into law, could put an animal shelter operated by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals out of business, The Washington Post reported. The bill solely defines an animal shelter as "operating for the purpose of finding permanent adoptive homes," a change in definition that would largely turn the state's private shelters into "no-kill" zones, the Post said. PETA facility in Norfolk euthanized all but about 300 of the 2,631 cats and dogs it took in during 2014. This compares to a roughly 25 percent euthanasia rate at Virginia county animal shelters. Critics say PETA made little effort to put its animals up for adoption. "PETA is a huge, rich, mean bully," blogged Robin Starr of the Richmond SPCA....

PETA had good intentions when they were created.
In the following years, they have forgotton who much less how they were to protect animals . The disturbing news compounds until we realize they are a business first and formost.
They have lost sight of being animal protecters or serving the rights or best interests of them. Call them leftisis or right wing whatevers, they are harming the population they are claiming to save. I call that business ego driven a.holes. ------------------
Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged.

A.holes indeed!Let's not forget this is the very same group...PETA who was caught several years ago killing dogs and cats in their vans behind shopping centers and throwing their carcasses in shopping center dumpsters. These were not animals they couldn't find homes for. These were dogs and cats PETA had just picked up from local animal shelters after promising to find them good homes. I suppose for PETA, a dumpster behind a shopping center qualifies as a "good home". I don't know if PETA receives any government...federal or state funding. If they do, PETA should be indicted, tried and convicted for theft of government funds...and put out of business. IP: Logged | |
