I don't know about that... there was a box that I checked

at the DMV, when I renewed my DL, stating that I *did*

want to be an organ donor.

That feels a little different, than Planned Parenthood

selling the body parts it harvests from all the

abortions they perform.

Why doesn't the mother get the money?

It's her body, right?

If this is acceptable... and if one were so inclined... one

could even become a donor for hire-- law permitting (or not;

the black market will always thrive).

Very profitable enterprise, I bet.

For science, of course.

O the Possibilities.

Good point, Eirlys. I'm sure we're all aware that as soon as something becomes profitable, it creates pressure for there to be more of it -- regardless of whether more is needed and regardless of whether more is harmful. The prison system is a good example. Why does the United States lock up a higher percentage of its citizens than any other country? (I don't buy that Americans are somehow worse people than the rest, and therefore deserve it more often.) Privatization and profit. What questionable methods are going to start being used when the desire for harvested-organ profits outpaces the natural availability?

Donors for hire will be hailed as Life-Saving Heroes,

who "donate" organs (and any other number of unethical parts)

for children (or adults) who "need" them to live... or

for research, like they are now.

And they'll be interviewed by Katie Couric or Diane Sawyer,

with Kleenex, for their Bravery.

It's probably already happening, anyway.

RNC Slams New 'Disgusting' Planned Parenthood Video
Todd Beamon
Tuesday, 21 Jul 2015

The Republican National Committee slammed Planned Parenthood Tuesday after a second undercover video surfaced showing a medical director for the organization in California discussing the sale of fetal body parts and called on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to speak out against "these barbaric acts."

"The new video of Planned Parenthood workers discussing the sale of fetal body parts is truly disgusting," said spokeswoman Allison Moore. "Hillary Clinton must break her silence and condemn these barbaric acts committed by one of her major donors."

The video was released by the Center for Medical Progress, as was the one last week. It shows Dr. Mary Gatter, a Planned Parenthood medical director in Southern California, meeting with people posing as potential buyers of intact fetal specimens.

Much of the conversation captured on video details how much money the buyers should pay.

Federal law prohibits the commercial sale of fetal tissue, but allows nonprofit donation of tissue if the women who underwent abortions give their consent.

Planned Parenthood contends that the payments discussed in the new video, like last week's, involve reimbursement for the costs of procuring the tissue — which is legal.

"We're not in it for the money," Gatter says in the video, while also discussing whether a payment of $100 per specimen would be adequate.

In another portion of the footage, the doctor appears to suggest that abortion procedures could be modified in some cases to get more intact fetuses.

Federal law prohibits altering the timing or method of an abortion solely to obtain fetal tissue.

Planned Parenthood spokesman Eric Ferrero said the source of the videos "is a group of extremists who have intimidated women and doctors for years in their agenda to ban abortion completely."

In addition, Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey ordered state health officials to use "emergency rules" to ban the illegal sale of tissue from aborted fetuses, The Arizona Republic reports.

"The footage released by the Center for Medical Progress regarding the alleged sale and trafficking of aborted fetal tissue and body parts by Planned Parenthood is horrifying and has no place in a civilized society," the governor said. "I am calling on the Department of Health Services to conduct a thorough review of the law and immediately promulgate emergency rules designed to prohibit the illegal sale of any tissue from an unborn child."

Well that will help, banning what is already illegal. PP is a nonprofit. They are allowed to recoup their costs not make profit. The doctor repeatedly states thst the mother's permission is needed and not even sought till she has decided on the abortion.

Theres ample opportunity for investigation. But this vid, noticeably edited, is a smear job. Talk to a surgeon and you will hear body parts discussed technically and without shmaltzy emotion. The focus they need to get the job done doesnt allow for them to sit around feeling sorry for cutting people..which can also be depicted as barbaric and soulless, and actually is in some quarters.

How much do you think a heart transplant costs?

Trey Gowdy: I'm Not Going to Fund Planned Parenthood
Todd Beamon
Friday, 31 Jul 2015

Rep. Trey Gowdy Friday called for defunding Planned Parenthood because the organization works to "prop up the abortion industry" through the sale of fetal body parts.

"The people I work for do not want to fund that," the South Carolina Republican told Shannon Bream on Fox News. "People can disagree about a woman's right to choose and Roe vs. Wade, but this is barbaric, depraved.

"I didn't think Planned Parenthood was necessary after Obamacare," Gowdy added. "I thought it provided healthcare and access to everyone.

"Why do we need Planned Parenthood to prop up the abortion industry? I'm not going to fund it."

Gowdy, who chairs the special House committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans, was among 18 Republicans from the chamber who signed a letter Wednesday vowing to strip Planned Parenthood of its $528 million in public funding — even if it leads to a federal government shutdown.

The move came after new undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress showing Planned Parenthood staffers discussing the sale of the aborted body parts.

He told Fox that he was fully prepared for President Barack Obama to veto any legislation defunding the organization.

"The president loves to talk about bipartisanship, working together, so long as you do everything he wants you to do," Gowdy said. "That's his definition of bipartisanship.

"I'm not going to give taxpayer money to an entity that discusses the best way to sell body parts and whether or not you can perform procedures after a delivery and sell those parts in interstate commerce," he added. "I'm not going to fund it."

Turning to the new batch of emails the State Department released regarding Hillary Clinton's four years as secretary of state, Gowdy said that the heavily redacted documents will "probably not" help the Benghazi committee.

"We are in a constant battle with the State Department over the production of documents," he said. "We'll find out what happened with or without their help."

Clinton will testify before the panel in a public hearing on Oct. 22.

"We are marching on toward the October interview with the secretary, but we have 40 other interviews planned for fall," Gowdy said. "It would go better if the state department showed a little bit of interest in cooperating with the investigation.

"Put politics aside and help us find out what happened to the four brave fellow Americans, but so far the State Department has been incapable of doing that."

How do you always manage to miss the most important part or parts of articles?

Planned Parenthood...the murderous murderers of millions of babies through the years is under investigation for SELLING BABY ORGANS AND TISSUE.

So now, you post an article saying PP gets cleared of the charge...in INDIANA.

Let me tell you what you missed. Telling you outright is the only way you'll get it...if even then.

Planned Parenthood was cleared of selling baby body organs and tissue in Indiana because Planned Parenthood centers located in Indiana DON'T PARTICIPATE IN BABY TISSUE "DONATIONS"...as PP likes to characterize the selling of baby body parts for medical research. NEITHER SELLING OR DONATING BABY BODY PARTS IN INDIANA PLANNED PARENTHOOD CENTERS.

"She said the Indiana facilities don't participate in tissue donations."

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Planned Parenthood...Murder Incorporated, in other states where PP is under investigation.

Nothing phantom about the state investigations of Murder Incorporated by various states.

Nothing phantom about the Bills starting up in the House and Senate to totally defund Murder Incorporated either.

If your little Marxist Messiah and his Socialist comrades in Congress want to shut down the government over Murder Incorporated, let them!

"The current uproar was ignited when an antiabortion activist, posing as a biomedical research company representative, captured on video — which he then edited in the most misleading way possible — discussions by Planned Parenthood physicians of the procedures they use (when recovering specific fetal organ tissues) and the cost ($30 to $100 to reimburse for costs). The effect was to portray the organization as callous and possibly criminal in its actions. This orchestrated effort led, predictably, to state and federal calls to end funding for all Planned Parenthood services — more than 95% of which involve such things as contraception and screening for sexually transmitted diseases, rather than abortion.

Along the way, the target broadened, and the use of fetal tissue in research was also attacked. Portrayed as ghoulish vivisection and body-part snatching, it was decried as barbaric by members of Congress. Within weeks, inquiries were announced in Arizona, Indiana, Florida, Kansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas; Arizona began looking into making it more difficult to provide tissue; and bills were drafted in Wisconsin and California to make it virtually impossible to use fetal tissue or fetal cells. The inquiries revealed no law broken by Planned Parenthood, but only time will tell how many bills will become law."
