While this might be a manifestation of Poe's Law , I think it's for real:
http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2016/02/saba-ahmed-u rging-muslims-vote-republican-160223122816776.html

quote:
The appeal to American Muslims is that Republicans have values - such as [being] pro-life, [in favour of] traditional marriage, business, trade, etc, that align with Islamic beliefs.

Democrats, [on the other hand], espouse liberal values which are incompatible with Islam. I couldn't support their pro-choice, pro-LGBT, pro-taxes approach.

[While] some [of the] social values [of the Democratic party] are good, mostly they promote same sex relations, which are completely forbidden in Islam. I have been extremely disappointed in the Obama administration policies [in this regard].

Speaking of which...(the pic I had was resized and unreadable, suffice to say if Iran were to mandate Christianity over Islam but kept all their current political and social policies in place, then it would be the promised land to quite a few who identify as Republican.)

Oh, and this was a lot of fun to me, and I say that as a former Texan...of course a great many Texans (or Christians) aren't actually like that, but enough are. A great many Muslims aren't like the one portrayed here, but enough are (and note the title of this thread says "Muslims for Republicans" which means the ones that are, it did NOT say "All Muslims are Republicans" or anything of that nature). I'm just sharing this because it's funny to me (especially the idea of the Texan fundie Christians and Muslim who closely resemble the stereotypes were to actually meet and learn more about each other that way), and I hope it's funny to others, though knowing how this is an election year and politics brings out the worst in people, I'm sure someone is going to get upset:

Well it's true Pixie. Muslim values align closely with Christian values. And some Muslims see the Republican party as representing Christians and vote Republican.

My dad is a Republican and has always voted Republican. He's going to vote Trump too. I didn't ask him why...

I am independent and vote Democrat. This is the first year I regret not registering as a Dem, because I needed to see Bernie win the primary in order to vote Dem this year.

Muslim ban, shmuslim ban. I've been watching the dead fall in the east. As far as I'm concerned the Bushes, Clintons, and now Obamas, are imperialists and war mongers, and murders of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. Not to mention Hillary and Barak murdered the American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki, denying him a trial. I don't need to argue his innocence or guilt. What they did is a direct threat to me and every American.

Sorry to mix metaphors here but; they say, better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I say, hell no! When the wolves have shed their sheep's clothing you're a fool to go back into the barn...

If I can't bring myself to vote Trump this year (because magically my deep loathing of Hillary has subsided and I don't feel pushed to cast a vote against her), then I'll vote closer to my political roots... Green...? I don't know what to do. Everybody sucks in 2016.

plz don't quote.

Yes, Obama killed an American citizen with a drone and without a trial. He made himself judge, jury, and executioner. And the Dems are worried about Trump? They have had a power-crazed narcissist who thinks he's a king in office for 7.5 years!
