Hello cat,

The title is a bit scary but the facts written in the article, esp the figure of demonstrators, the determination, the arguments about the labour reform are correct.

But what is omitted, probably cause missed by an outsider, is that all this mess is the work of one trade union that is loosing steam, and trying to rebuild its position. But it is being replace as the number one trade union by another, more in line with the liberal views of the socialist government. In short : a reformist trade union is taking over in number of members the oldest main trade union related to the communist party that is slowly becoming second, and "by passed" by the government to "discuss" this labour law.

Besides, president hollande and the government of manuel valls are very low in the polls. Very very low. It is is fact not cool to appear complacent with them. The discontent with traditional politics is high, and they are catalyst. Their labour reform has led to a climax of discontent. But nothing yet revolutionary.

However what all this is showing is that marine lepen with her racist and populist leftist propaganda (a mix of socialism with "priority to the french" bent -- note the CATHOLIC, WHITE preferably) will be in the second run at the presidential election in april 2017

People have democracy and unfortunately, they use it :-(

Hello juniperb, thank you for welcoming me in this wonderful place.

I often want to express my gratitude to lindaland for existing, to the US for what it represent to me, and both are linked in my mind

I follow the news from across the atlantic as much as I can. It is a critical moment, a presidential election year, actually in france too, though we vote in may 2017 but it has started already. I think next year germany will vote too, britain is changing under our eyes. I have faith that it will work out fine. It is all our perception that counts, cause from that, we free ourselves or stay slave to them.

To give an exemple, I watched a program on tv about the french revolution. Robespierre, the great MURDERER during the revolution, was put down because one day its supporters feared to be the next ones to be executed. Until they withdrew their support, he was capable of sending everyone and anyone to the guillotine. In a couple of days, his supporters sent him to the guillotine, and the TERROR was finished ( an historic period of roughly 2 years, more or less between 1792 to 1794- the revolution began the 14th of july 1789 (happy birthday :-) )

For me th USA, is linked to lindaland.

I created a vision in my mind where different people, all spiritual come together. I love the hippy vibe I get from here, and I am very happy to have contributed to this community. The US may have the feeling to have lost its way, its greatness even. I feel for you.

Europe once ruled the world... And France competed among few nations to rule europe...

But instead of being threatened by the evolution, I am so hopeful and expecting the changes to come faster. It is a great chance to live in a time that aims at a global equality, cause it goes hand in hand with aiming at equality within each countries.

The US (for me) is at the forefront of the new age, the avant guarde, but not because it is self conscious of itself, or rather because it is SELF-conscious, it is at the forefront. Well that goes for the america that I like and that I find in lindaland most of the time

Yes, perhaps the United States would do well to be more like Europe. We surely could use a Bureau of Weights, Measures and Standards which would regulate the curvature of cucumbers and other critical measures which would improve the lives of our citizens.

Imagine the unmitigated horror of having open bottles of Olive Oil on restaurant tables!

Welcome to the New World Order.
