The same reason Hillary wanted Bernie's endorsement. But Dems seemed to think Trump NOT having his support was important! Cruz has a lot of moderate supporters. Trump supporters didn't like that he didn't keep his word to support the nominee. Having his endorsement helps Trump get to that 90% of Republicans number he needs to win.

I think it means something of importance considering Trump humiliated Cruz's wife.
They have had their disagreements, very publicly, but Cruz decided to take the high road and vote the way that's best for the Country. Cruz out of all people know how corrupt Clinton is, it would be against everything he stands for to vote for her. I still have respect for Cruz, he was the candidate I was rooting for. This must be a hard thing to do as it's blatantly clear he dislikes both of the people running for the presidency, and his poor wife was dragged into all of it.

I would have thought voters would have stuck with him for supporting his wife, and not just supporting Trump because he has to. That's grudging support, not a huge endorsement.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Hillary's supporters are not very enthusiastic. In fact, some are even dead (voter fraud). But Trump's core supporters are going to show up in droves.
