Bernstein: FBI Would Not Reopen Case Unless New Evidence Was "A Real Bombshell"
Tim Hains
October 28, 2016

Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein comments on the FBI's shocking Friday afternoon announcement that they are reopening the investigation into Hilary Clinton's email server because new evidence has come to light.

CARL BERNSTEIN: Well, there's no question that the e-mails have always been the greatest threat to her candidacy for president, that her conduct in regard to the e-mails is really indefensible and if there was going to be more information that came out, it was the one thing, as I said on the air last night, actually that could really perhaps affect this election.

We don't know what this means yet except that it's a real bombshell. And it is unthinkable that the Director of the FBI would take this action lightly, that he would put this letter forth to the Congress of the United States saying there is more information out there about classified e-mails and call it to the attention of congress unless it was something requiring serious investigation. So that's where we are...

Network programming got preempted for over 30 minutes today. For the first time, the regular media actually did some real reporting on that crook! Wonder what that means?

Now, this is the Clinton duo I remember well. Breaking every inconvenient law, scandal ridden administrations from Little Rock, Arkansas to Washington DC...with someone else always falling on their swords and taking the punishment Bill and Hill earned.

In this current re-opened scandal, let's see who falls on their sword for Hillary The Corrupt. Don't bet against it being Huma.

Grifters-in-Chief

The Clintons don’t draw lines between their ‘charity’ and personal enrichment.
Kimberley A. Strassel
Oct. 27, 2016

In an election season that has been full of surprises, let’s hope the electorate understands that there is at least one thing of which it can be certain: A Hillary Clinton presidency will be built, from the ground up, on self-dealing, crony favors, and an utter disregard for the law.

This isn’t a guess. It is spelled out, in black and white, in the latest bombshell revelation from WikiLeaks. It comes in the form of a memo written in 2011 by longtime Clinton errand boy Doug Band, who for years worked simultaneously at the Clinton Foundation and at the head of his lucrative consulting business, Teneo.

It is astonishingly detailed proof that the Clintons do not draw any lines between their “charitable” work, their political activity, their government jobs or (and most important) their personal enrichment. Every other American is expected to keep these pursuits separate, as required by tax law, anticorruption law and campaign-finance law. For the Clintons, it is all one and the same—the rules be damned.

The memo came near the end of a 2011 review by law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett into Clinton Foundation practices. Chelsea Clinton had grown concerned about the audacious mixing of public and private, and the review was designed to ensure that the foundation didn’t lose its charitable tax status. Mr. Band, Teneo boss and epicenter of what he calls “ Bill Clinton, Inc.,” clearly felt under assault and was eager to brag up the ways in which his business had concurrently benefited the foundation, Clinton political causes and the Clinton bank account. The memoed result is a remarkably candid look at the sleazy inner workings of the Clinton grifters-in-chief.

The cross-pollination is flagrant, and Mr. Band gives example after example of how it works. He and his partner Declan Kelly (a Hillary Clinton fundraiser whom Mrs. Clinton rewarded by making him the State Department’s special envoy to Northern Ireland) buttered up their clients with special visits to Bill’s home and tête-à-tête golf rounds with the former president. They then “cultivated” these marks ( Coca-Cola, Dow Chemical, UBS) for foundation dollars, and then again for high-dollar Bill Clinton speeches and other business payouts.

Teneo’s incestuous behavior also included Mrs. Clinton’s State Department. The Band memo boasts that Mr. Kelly (while he was Mrs. Clinton’s State envoy) introduced the then-head of UBS Wealth Management, Bob McCann, to Bill Clinton at an American Ireland Fund event in 2009. “Mr. Kelly subsequently asked Mr. Mccann [sic] to support the Foundation, which he did . . . Mr. Kelly also encouraged Mr. Mccann [sic] to invite President Clinton to give several paid speeches, which he has done,” reads Mr. Band’s memo. UBS ultimately paid Bill $2 million.

American Ireland Fund meanwhile became a Teneo client, and made Mr. Kelly (of former State envoy fame) a trustee, where he “ensured that the AIF is a significant donor to the Foundation.” AIF then bestowed upon Mrs. Clinton a major award on her final trip to Northern Ireland in 2012, in an event partly sponsored by . . . Teneo.

Not that this is all one way. Mr. Band let slip just how useful all these arrangements were for Teneo, too, when he backhandedly apologized in the memo for hosting 15 client meetings in a hotel room rented by the Clinton Global Initiative.

The memo removes any doubt that the foundation is little more than an unregistered super PAC working on the Clintons’ behalf. Donors to the charity are simultaneously tapped to give Bill speech requests and other business arrangements, including the $3.5 million he was paid annually to serve as “honorary chairman” of Laureate International Universities. Mr. Band’s memo also notes his success at getting donors to “support candidates running for office that President Clinton was supporting.”

It’s now 2016 and Bill’s most favorite candidate is running for the presidency. There’s no question foundation donors are being “leveraged” for Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Band wants credit in the memo for prodding existing foundation donors to pony up more money, though the donation statistics he provides paint a different picture. By and large, donations to the foundation begin to spike dramatically in 2009 and 2010. Mr. Band didn’t form Teneo until 2011. What was happening in 2009? Mrs. Clinton was sworn in as one of the most powerful politicians on the planet.

The obvious question is where are the prosecutors? (For that matter, where is Lois Lerner when you need her?) Any nonprofit lawyer in America knows the ironclad rule of keeping private enrichment away from tax-exempt activity, for the simple reason that mixing the two involves ripping off taxpayers. Every election lawyer in the country lives in fear of stepping over the lines governing fundraising and election vehicles. The Clintons recognize no lines.

Here’s the lasting takeaway: The Clintons spent their White House years explaining endless sleazy financial deals, and even capping their exit with a scandal over whether Bill was paid to pardon financier Marc Rich. They know the risks. And yet they geared up the foundation and these seedy practices even as Mrs. Clinton was making her first bid for the presidency. They continued them as she sat as secretary of state. They continue them still, as she nears the White House.

This is how the Clintons operate. They don’t change. Any one who pulls the lever for Mrs. Clinton takes responsibility for setting up the nation for all the blatant corruption that will follow.

FBI Re-Opening the investigation just before elections is a very big development.
This paves the way for impeachment as the results of the investigation would come in months after the election results, which as of now are slightly in Hillary's favor.

Something like this was predicted months ago by Benjamin Fulford.

It seems those in the Pentagon who know about the "Establishment" complicity in 9-11 and subsequent illegal invasion of Iraq and other War Crimes perpetrated by NeoCons, do not want Hillary as President even though they are not against the Democrats. It was Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren who should have been selected to clean up the mess/corruption but according to them, Hillary pulled off a little coup.

Things are getting very interesting indeed.

For the first time ever, the American Public will see almost clear evidence of the various Shadow Groups vying for Power in Global Politics.

Simply having State Dept. business on a private server was a felony, and this particular felony disqualified her from public office. Destroying the e-mails was also a felony. Her use of Bleach Bit shows intent. But intent isn't even needed for that crime. Just having the server in and of itself alone was a crime that should have disqualified her. Not to mention destroying evidence after receiving a subpoena and over a dozen other felonies. Then we have the RICO organized criminal enterprise otherwise known as The Clinton Foundation. The sheer depth of this corruption is staggering.

FYI, a felony conviction typically doesn't disqualify one for public office (even if it disqualifies the individual from being eligible to vote), or else Washington politics would be empty of a lot of present company. Yes, you can be ineligible to vote and still run for office. But Hillary's felony specifically disqualifies her for public office.

Clinton supported the Iraq War, and was responsible for regime change in Libya that created a base for ISIS. Gaddafi was raped with a sword. She laughed when given the news he died. She wants a no fly zone in Syria, which could start a war with Russia. She sent children seeking asylum in the U.S. back to Honduras in order to "send a message." She has used her position as Secretary of State to enrich herself and her family via the Clinton Foundation, which is currently under FBI investigation. As of last Friday and FBI Director's announcement that the email investigation has been reopened, both Clintons are now under FBI investigation. Donald Trump, with all his flaws, hasn't done anything that rises to the level of her corruption.

So, guess who the Dept of Justice put in charge of the "New" investigation?

The best friend at the Justice Dept of John Podesta, Hillary The Corrupt's Campaign Chairman.

Now there's some real "transparency"!

But hey, in their opinion, everyone is too stupid to see any collusion and conflict of interest here!

John Podesta's Best Friend At The DOJ Will Be In Charge Of The DOJ's Probe Into Huma Abedin Emails
Tyler Durden
Nov 1, 2016

Now that the FBI has obtained the needed warrant to start poring over the 650,000 or so emails uncovered in Anthony Weiner's notebook, among which thousands of emails sent from Huma Abedin using Hillary Clinton's personal server, moments ago the US Justice Department announced it is also joining the probe, and as AP reported moments ago, vowed to dedicate all needed resources to quickly review the over half a million emails in the Clinton case.

In the letter to Congress, the DOJ writes that it “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible,” assistant attorney General Peter J. Kadzik writes in letters to House and Senate lawmakers.

So far so good, even if one wonders just how active the DOJ will be in a case that has shown an unprecedented schism between the politically influenced Department of Justice and the FBI.

And yet, something felt odd about this.

Kadzik... Kadzik... where have we heard that name?

Oh yes. Recall our post from last week, "Clinton Campaign Chair Had Dinner With Top DOJ Official One Day After Hillary's Benghazi Hearing" in which we reported that John Podesta had dinner with one of the highest ranked DOJ officials the very day after Hillary Clinton's Benghazi testimony?

It was Peter Kadzik.

In other words, the best friend of John Podesta, Clinton's Campaign chair, at the DOJ will be in charge of a probe that could potentially sink Hillary Clinton.

For those who missed it, this is what we reported previously:

The day after Hillary Clinton testified in front of the House Select Committee on Benghazi last October, John Podesta, Hillary's campaign chairman met for dinner with a small group of well-connected friends, including Peter Kadzik, who is currently a top official at the US Justice Department serving as Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs.

The post-Benghazi dinner was attended by Podesta, Kadzik, superlobbyist Vincent Roberti and other well-placed Beltway fixtures. The first mention of personal contact between Podesta and Kadzik in the Wikileaks dump is in an Oct. 23, 2015 email sent out by Vincent Roberti, a lobbyist who is close to Podesta and his superlobbyist brother, Tony Podesta. In it, Roberti refers to a dinner reservation at Posto, a Washington D.C. restaurant. The dinner was set for 7:30 that evening, just one day after Clinton gave 11 hours of testimony to the Benghazi Committee.

Podesta and Kadzik met several months later for dinner at Podesta’s home, another email shows. Another email sent on May 5, 2015, Kadzik’s son asked Podesta for a job on the Clinton campaign.

As the Daily Caller noted, the dinner arrangement "is just the latest example of an apparent conflict of interest between the Clinton campaign and the federal agency charged with investigating the former secretary of state’s email practices." As one former U.S. Attorney tells told the DC, the exchanges are another example of the Clinton campaign’s “cozy relationship” with the Obama Justice Department.

The hacked emails confirm that Podesta and Kadzik were in frequent contact. In one email from January, Kadzik and Podesta, who were classmates at Georgetown Law School in the 1970s, discussed plans to celebrate Podesta’s birthday. And in another sent last May, Kadzik’s son emailed Podesta asking for a job on the Clinton campaign.

“The political appointees in the Obama administration, especially in the Department of Justice, appear to be very partisan in nature and I don’t think had clean hands when it comes to the investigation of the private email server,” says Matthew Whitaker, the executive director of the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, a government watchdog group.

“It’s the kind of thing the American people are frustrated about is that the politically powerful have insider access and have these kind of relationships that ultimately appear to always break to the benefit of Hillary Clinton,” he added, comparing the Podesta-Kadzik meetings to the revelation that Attorney General Loretta Lynch met in private with Bill Clinton at the airport in Phoenix days before the FBI and DOJ investigating Hillary Clinton.

Kadzik's role at the DOJ, where he started in 2013, is particularly notable Kadzik, helped spearhead the effort to nominate Lynch, who was heavily criticized for her secret meeting with the former president.

It gets better because, as we further revealed, if there is one person in the DOJ who is John Podesta's, and thus the Clinton Foundation's inside man, it is Peter Kadjik.

Kadzik represented Podesta during the Monica Lewinsky investigation. And in the waning days of the Bill Clinton administration, Kadzik lobbied Podesta on behalf of Marc Rich, the fugitive who Bill Clinton controversially pardoned on his last day in office. That history is cited by Podesta in another email hacked from his Gmail account. In a Sept. 2008 email, which the Washington Free Beacon flagged last week, Podesta emailed an Obama campaign official to recommend Kadzik for a supportive role in the campaign. Podesta, who would later head up the Obama White House transition effort, wrote that Kadzik was a “fantastic lawyer” who “kept me out of jail.”

Podesta was caught in a sticky situation in both the Lewinsky affair and the Rich pardon scandal. As deputy chief of staff to Clinton in 1996, Podesta asked then-United Nations ambassador Bill Richardson to hire the 23-year-old Lewinsky. In April 1996, the White House transferred Lewinsky from her job as a White House intern to the Pentagon in order to keep her and Bill Clinton separate. But the Clinton team also wanted to keep Lewinsky happy so that she would not spill the beans about her sexual relationship with Clinton.

Richardson later recounted in his autobiography that he offered Lewinsky the position but that she declined it.

Podesta made false statements to a grand jury impaneled by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr for the investigation. But he defended the falsehoods, saying later that he was merely relaying false information from Clinton that he did not know was inaccurate at the time. “He did lie to me,” Podesta said about Clinton in a National Public Radio interview in 1998. Clinton was acquitted by the Senate in Feb. 1999 of perjury and obstruction of justice charges related to the Lewinsky probe. Kadzik, then a lawyer with the firm Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky, represented Podesta through the fiasco.

Podesta had been promoted to Clinton’s chief of staff when he and Kadzik became embroiled in another scandal.

Kadzik was then representing Marc Rich, a billionaire financier who was wanted by the U.S. government for evading a $48 million tax bill. The fugitive, who was also implicated in illegal trading activity with nations that sponsored terrorism, had been living in Switzerland for 17 years when he sought the pardon. To help Rich, Kadzik lobbied Podesta heavily in the weeks before Clinton left office on Jan. 20, 2001. A House Oversight Committee report released in May 2002 stated that “Kadzik was recruited into Marc Rich’s lobbying campaign because he was a long-time friend of White House Chief of Staff John Podesta.”

The report noted that Kadzik contacted Podesta at least seven times regarding Rich’s pardon. On top of the all-hands-on-deck lobbying effort, Rich’s ex-wife, Denise Rich, had doled out more than $1 million to the Clintons and other Democrats prior to the pardon. She gave $100,000 to Hillary Clinton’s New York Senate campaign and another $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library.

Kadzik's current role

In his current role as head of the Office of Legislative Affairs, Kadzik handles inquiries from Congress on a variety of issues. In that role he was not in the direct chain of command on the Clinton investigation. The Justice Department and FBI have insisted that career investigators oversaw the investigation, which concluded in July with no charges filed against Clinton.

But Kadzik worked on other Clinton email issues in his dealings with Congress. Last November, he denied a request from Republican lawmakers to appoint a special counsel to lead the investigation.

In a Feb. 1, 2016 letter in response to Kadzik, Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis noted that Kadzik had explained “that special counsel may be appointed at the discretion of the Attorney General when an investigation or prosecution by the Department of Justice would create a potential conflict of interest.”

DeSantis, a Republican, suggested that Lynch’s appointment by Bill Clinton in 1999 as U.S. Attorney in New York may be considered a conflict of interest. He also asserted that Obama’s political appointees — a list which includes Kadzik — “are being asked to impartially execute their respective duties as Department of Justice officials that may involve an investigation into the activities of the forerunner for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.”

It is unknown if Kadzik responded to DeSantis’ questions.

Kadzik’s first involvement in the Clinton email brouhaha came in a Sept. 24, 2015 response letter to Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley in which he declined to confirm or deny whether the DOJ was investigating Clinton. Last month, Politico reported that Kadzik angered Republican lawmakers when, in a classified briefing, he declined to say whether Clinton aides who received DOJ immunity were required to cooperate with congressional probes.

Kadzik also testified at a House Oversight Committee hearing last month on the issue of classifications and redactions in the FBI’s files of the Clinton email investigation.

Finally, it is also worth noting that Kadzik's wife, Amy Weiss, currently at Weiss Public Affairs worked on the 1992 Clinton/Gore Campaign as a Press Secretary, and Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee, and a White House Deputy Assistant to the President/Deputy Press Secretary to President Bill Clinton.

And now it seems that Kadzik will be in charge of the DOJ's "probe" into Huma Abedin's emails. Which is why we are a little skeptical the DOJ will find "anything" of note.

Writing a few months ago on another thread about the U.S. presidential election and the current Saturn-Neptune square, I thought it likely whoever won would be under a cloud. There are currently two FBI investigations of the Clintons and five field offices investigating the Clinton Foundation.

The Stupidity of Hillary
Bruce Walker

Few serious people doubt the dishonesty of Hillary and Bill Clinton. Both lie all the time about almost everything, the petty as well as the important. Few serious people doubt the shameless self-promotion, the naked avarice, the depthless lust for power and privilege of these two crooks. There is, however, one fundamental difference between William Jefferson Clinton and Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton. Bill was smart, and Hillary is stupid.

References to this fact have popped up again and again in emails and related correspondence within Hillary's inner circle. She often seems confused, her close aides tell each other. She often forgets things. While she can do well in rehearsed performances by parroting the same line over and over again, the same is not true when Hillary is required to think independently and make decisions that are not dull dogmatic repetitions of political cant.

The contrast with her husband is stark. Bill had an almost photographic memory for names and could call up clever rhetoric off the top of his head. Bill won a Rhodes Scholarship, something pretty hard for a poor boy from a small Arkansas town. He was able to persuade voters in Arkansas that he was a decent governor and Americans that he was a successful president – things not true, but Bill made do with a slipperiness that earned him the nickname of "Slick Willie."

Would anyone ever consider Hillary to be "slick" or "clever" or "smooth"? Most people attribute her clumsiness when not rehearsed to poor aptitude for politics – "We were dead broke … we couldn't pay the mortgages on our homes" or "What difference, at this point, does it make?" (regarding the dead she left behind in Benghazi) or the weak thinking that led her to set up a private server in her basement.

Surely this is simply poor aptitude, period. When has Hillary ever done anything we might reasonably consider smart? Her college studies were mired in the dreary feminist claptrap of the late 1960s, when being an angry young female leftist automatically earned you "As" and "Bs" in most subjects she took.

Hillary flunked a bar exam that nearly everyone in the District of Columbia passed, which strongly suggests that she learned little in law school. Hillary quickly hitched her star to the smart half of the marriage, the guy who would be Arkansas attorney general (a nice entrée for Hillary in the Little Rock law business) and then governor of Arkansas again and again and again.

One also must imagine that when Bill began his serial adulteries, sexual assaults, and other vile behaviors, at least in the beginning, he tricked his wife over and over again. She clearly decided that he was the breadwinner of the family – at least via the only route these folks knew to make money, which is influence-peddling and political corruption.

When Bill ran in 1992, he generated some actual excitement about what he might do as President Clinton. He was even then, of course, a crook and a creep, but sometimes those types, if smart, can be effective presidents. ("He may be an SOB, but he's our SOB.")

When Hillary decided to run for office herself, she picked the very safest place she could run, for the Senate seat being vacated by Daniel Patrick Moynihan in strongly Democrat New York. When she for the Democrat nomination in 2008, Hillary had every conceivable advantage but lost to a political unknown. Everything she did as secretary of state was a disaster. Hillary came close to losing the Democrat nomination this year to an old man with no influence or base, who was not even a Democrat.

Every new batch of emails we have seen come up in regular eruptions during the closing days of this campaign season suggests that Hillary is simply stupid. This is particularly stark when compared to Donald Trump, who – whatever one may feel about him – is a smart guy. When voters ponder which candidate to support on Tuesday, they ought to consider that Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton has really done nothing her whole life to suggest intelligence while Donald Trump has navigated the treacherous waters of the high-flying business world with great success for many decades. The choice, in a dangerous world, ought to be pretty easy.

I heard that this came to nothing, as expected.

It's the Clinton Foundation investigation (which has been going on for over a year), that will bring her to justice. A charge of public corruption has a much lower threshhold.

So that's where we are...

if he was a psycic, his azz would be fired.

All charges lifted against Clintons.
Such huge investigations completed in just three-four working days?

This is very unprofessional behavior by the FBI chief. They gave the impression that the new investigation was needed as something even bigger than the earlier charges was discovered.

Maybe Huma's curses to Weiner or her grocery wish lists were stored in the private server for all we know.

If some conspiracy fiction like "BlackList" were to air this episode, the FBI Chief would have found incriminating evidence against himself, his staff and all his Republican cohorts cleverly placed (by genius hackers) in the emails he was so patriotically re-investigating on the eve of elections.

Nope, no foundation business.
It was repeat emails and personal business.

Reach and stretch all you will but you will not change the facts there.
