Pssst.. have you heard? China is not "backward" because they're cutting bsck on coal and carbon.. they're cutting back DESPITE their problems BECAUSE pollution is handicapping them(You surely know what DESPITE means? Tho maybe your writer doesn't its hard to tell from this piece. ) because they can't breathe, which costs a great deal in health problems. Or have you somehow missed the famous smog that has millions wearing masks on a fairly regular basis? Their rivers and soils are contaminated too. We have nuclear power... hundreds of outdated stations like Hanford, the latest to threaten s major water artery in the Northwest. Congress doesn't seem to think its worth updating them so yes, peoole are insisting they be closed. Before a Fukushima type disaster happens in your backyard. The first new plants in ages were authorized under Obama to help bring down carbon emissions. Trouble is one bad earthquake and millions are affected. So it's not a real option. Fukushima, was supposedly state of the art 😷 None of the countries who are forging ahead with newer cleaner energies are living in the dark ages guys. Get a grip?
