Mr. Pope, tear down this wall

"Not content to rabblerouse on behalf of an inundation of the world’s great economic superpower – a free and open superpower with an extraordinarily beneficent immigration policy – Pope Francis then attempted to shame Donald Trump and other Republicans who favor a border wall. He told reporters, “a person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.

I'd go easy on that "do as I say, not as I do" rhetoric!

"Yes, the Vatican does have walls, and some are quite large. But anyone can stroll through the Pope's front yard -- St. Peter's Square -- at nearly any time. Only metal detectors stand between the iconic landmark and the millions of tourists who come to see the historic headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church.

In other words, Vatican City may have walls, but the front door is always open, said the Rev. James Martin, a Catholic priest and editor at large at America magazine."

Save your leftist open borders bullshiiite for the tourists.

The US admits about a MILLION legal immigrants to the US every year.

In addition, millions and millions of foreign nationals come to the US on all kinds of Visas...every year and stroll anywhere they wish.

That huge wall around the Vatican was built by Pope Leo....to keep Muslims OUT.

I'm not the one wheezing, whining, screeching, howling and shrieking in attempts to get Randall to shut someone up.

That's your side.

But, it is telling that leftists here consider anyone who disagrees with their delusional bullshiiite is trying to.."shut them up".

By the way, that former Berlin Wall was built to keep citizens of the utterly murderous...and failed communist state IN, not keep foreign nationals of other nations OUT.

What in the world are they teaching in history classes these days?

You're doing all the wheezing and whining here. I haven't complained about your being allowed to post here, after other, much nicer people were banned, for two or three months now. Maybe you should move on.

Allowed? Those "nicer" people were on other Forums besides GU. And Juni, President Trump's voters won the election, so they want a wall. I'm sure Hillary would have wanted things conservatives didn't.

No one is trying to shut Randall up.You have invited plenty people to stop saying what they think Madeira.

Dunno if you ever saw the Berlin wall.. but it kept out as many as it kept in.. and our border wall even now keeps in as many as it keeps out. You can't have one without the other. The Corridor wasnt even a wall as it happens.

Building Trumps fantasy requires building IN the Rio Grande, stealing private property andN and breaking at least one treaty.

The Vatican wall is 1200 yrs old.. there were no airplanes then or drones and the land is so rocky i doubt anyone tunneled through it. But nevermind.. you can keep your delusions but many taxpayers dont want the bill and many of them voted for a wall Mexico would pay for.

They also voted for a man who despised people taking money from Saudis (despite already taking many millions from them himself) and loved leaks that showed up his opponents.

I agree BUT the point here is jwhop is calling the Vatican a hypocrite. I pointed out the fact I didn`t pay for it but I will Trumps wall.

We pay our taxes. We don't get to decide what our taxes are spent on. Do you think conservatives were happy Obama paid billions to Iran? You will pay the same amount in taxes whether it is used to build a wall or to fund Iran's terrorism. Mexico will reimburse us in more ways than one.

The money paid to Iran was not tax monies. It wasn't even dollars but money held in security since 1979. Even the NY Post admitted that.

We paid them a "deposit" in pallets of cash on an unmarked plane. That was from the treasury, which was exchanged for other currencies.

It was their money which we had been holding. Not taxpayer money. Iran has funded less terrorism than the Saudis and DTs business cronies.

Then why did we pay them in cash instead of a bank transfer? They wanted cash, because it's easier to fund terrorism. Are you not aware that Iran is the number one state sponsor of terror?

Just wish to point out that no Iranian Citizen was involved in:
1. 9-11 Plot, which killed over 3000 Americans
2. Al-Qaeda: Have destroyed 100s of Billions of US Taxpayer Wealth
3. ISIS: Most dreadful Terror Group in the modern age
4. Any European City Terror Attack be it London, Madrid, Paris, Manchester. Ever.

Why is Iran being accused again and again when it is the only Muslim Country that is genuinely the friend of the West?

Just because they support Hezbollah and Hezbollah defeated Israel? Today even Israel is not too vocal against Iran.
If Iran did not support Hezbollah, there would have been a vigorous Genocide of Palestinians in those days. A lot of the "Stand Off" Peace in the Levant is thanks to Iran's strength, not terror activity, suicide bombers etc.

North Korea openly threatens friends of US. Too many Saudi Arabs have been caught funding Radical Terror Groups.

Yet Iran is the bad guy when it even helped weaken Saddam in the 1980s while sacrificing a million lives?

There is to much false narrative being built against Iran because Iran is a Superpower who can change the Great Oil Game of US-Arab-Russian Oil Cartels.
Iran has World Class Technology and a highly educated population, they have survived within Unfair Sanctions. Should Sanctions be lifted, they can drown out Crude Price by pumping out all they have it is just a cool extra profit for them.

This will bankrupt Saudis and Russia, while bolster China and India Growth through very very cheap Crude, when also destroying balance sheets of big Defence Corporations who wont get Saudi Cash anymore.

Iran has never been the bad guy in the last few decades. The days of baddy Ayatollah Khomeini are over. Iran will never strike European or American target.

I do agree that Obama should have gone for a more transparent transfer but he earned good Karma for USA by honestly returning what was rightfully Iran's own money.

Indeed
Iran rejected the West's chosen Shah. Iran took back control of its oil from Brit/Rockefeller. This is unforgivable to some.

Many have not noticed that their new president is much more moderate than the regime of the 80s and 90s. Ayatollah is past it in every way ...

Plus Iranians are still only partly Arab. Persians are different and Islam is a construct superimposed on them.

They wanted cash! Horrors. Perhaps for some strange reason they don't trust the US to write a check. It was still their money being held for decades, not taxpayer's

Like Cat said, it was their money to start with. Not a penny was American taxes.

That storyline was a, dare I say it.....
fake.
