Right now, if Democrats can compromise and go for a deal wherein existing Obamacare Beneficiaries continue to have coverage for the same premium amount in Trumpcare, Trump would accept the deal.

I will say this first, Donald Trump could even shift to Democrat Side and win as a Democrat in 2020, leaving the GOP a bloodied sorry mess of a party.

@Node: Trump was a Democrat. He was very close to the Clintons at one time. A successful businessman does not have too many enemies in the political arena.
He is enriching his Brand through this Presidency, and his personality is such that he loves to teach his detractors a lesson while being in the limelight all the time.
Now that the GOP has "hurt" him by not repealing Obamacare, he will teach them a lesson they will never forget.
With no Democrat leader having Obama's scholarly credentials, and with Hillary beaten so many times, Trump can use his "Art of the Deal" technique to strike a deal with Democrats [who have a huge corpus of funds that a winning personality like Trump can use to the fullest] and play to the Democrat's gallery without losing his "Drain the Swamp" Base. Ye she may lose some evangelical support but he should comfortably get 53-55% Vote Share if he were a Democrat today and spoke against Racism etc.
Imagine the News this would make, Trump just loves being in the News all the time.

He did not hesitate to bring a former Detractor like the Mooch into his team, did he?

Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.

Boneheaded does not characterize this action correctly.

The Washington Post report adds that Michael Flynn was also there.
