According to The Hill, “almost half of liberal-leaning Democrats said that a friendship would be strained if they found out their friend had voted for President Trump.”

The survey, released Thursday, found that 47 percent of liberal Democrats said their relationships would be strained if they found out a friend backed Trump.

Comparatively, only 25 percent of conservative and moderate Democrats said a friend backing Trump would hurt their friendship. The poll also found that Democrats with higher education levels were more likely to say their friendships would be strained by a Trump-supporting friend.

Fifty-nine percent of Americans said it is “stressful and frustrating” to talk with those who have a different opinion about Trump. Nearly 70 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters said so, while 52 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning respondents agreed.

Not surprisingly, liberal Democrats get angry over everything. So, it isn’t shocking they would end a friendship over a vote.

What isn’t surprising, however, is that “voting for Hillary Clinton was far less likely to impact a friendship.” Why? Because Republicans aren’t crazy.

They don’t take everything so dang personally and cry in the corner when their feelings are hurt.

Now, of course, if this sort of study came out 4 or 8 years ago, and it was reported that Republicans’ friendships would be strained if they found out their friend voted for Barack Obama, Republicans would immediately be labeled as racists.

But it seems to be no problem at all that Democrats take issue with Trump voters, and would be willing to end a friendship over that.

I say–let them end it. Who wants to be friends with those snowflakes anyways?

I very nearly lost a very good friend because they wouldn't hear any criticism of Trump.. even tho i didn't like Clinton either.. again I didn't go to the ugly end of either sides arguments.. but she stopped talking to me for months in fact we are not such good friends anymore.. not my decision but if someone wants to get that judgmental with a friend it is probly just as well to leave it alone imo

I found both Trump and Clinton supporters equally likely to be bristly and abusive in the face of criticism of their candidates. Some Sanders people too. And some were able to stay reasonable throughout even so.

I dont consider myself a Dem so maybe that is the difference ?

But you and jwhop don't seem able to stop at disagreeing, do you? Its always attached to slurs on character, intelligence and The LEFT as well.. as in this post.. "Liberal dems get angry over everything" as if you can categorize a whole group of millions of people as being of one nature..lol.

In fact you accuse everyone who criticizes DT of being a Lefty even when it's patently untrue. And yes, i realize the quote is someone else's words but it was your choice to quote it

Kinda debunks the study/ poll.. or are you saying you have no more liberal friends because they were too intolerant to put up with such abuse ?

And no, I'm no chicken. Nor would i stay friends with someone who felt the need to lump me in with the half of the country they hate (tho they don't know them) and had such limited imaginations that all disagreements led to verbal trashing and ridicule.

Are you two still friends with people who disregard every thing you say that doesn't echo your own beliefs but calls you names ands rants sbout conservatives every time you do?

Not sure where you get your data on where i get my news... but you just scored a big fat 0%.

...And seeing as you have branded the above list as liars and traitors.. I wonder how you actually know what their content is? How do you know they're fakers? Because American Tinker says so? Daily Caller? Those bastions of objectivity and fact? Or do you actually read/ watch them?

All news is subject to the perceptive lens of reporters. Including the ones that support your own perceptive bias.
