Justice Jr. ~ coal mining, agriculture owner of over 50 companies, including The Greenbrier, a luxury resort, also the site of a massive underground bunker that was meant to serve as an emergency shelter for Congress during the Cold War. Need I say Billionaire?

He switched from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party for the 2016 election. Less than seven months after taking office, he switch parties again and become a Republican.

We may not need to wait 7 months for his next affiliation switch. DT probably wants the Greenbrier gold courses. I believe they have gambling too.

I`m sure Randall and big Don read soooo much into the switch!

Money, it`s all about money... and power.

Yes.

Intuition told me to keep digging.

quote:
But an NPR investigation shows that Justice's mining companies still fail to pay millions of dollars in mine safety penalties two years after an earlier investigation documented the same behavior. Our analysis of federal data shows that Justice is now the nation's top mine safety delinquent.

quote:
His mining companies owe $15 million in six states, including property and minerals taxes, state coal severance and withholding taxes, and federal income, excise and unemployment taxes, as well as mine safety penalties, according to county, state and federal records.

Re: Safety records

quote:
Delinquent Justice mines also continue to have worse-than-average safety records, according to NPR's analysis of MSHA injury and violations data. Our analysis shows that injury rates (for injuries forcing time away from work) are twice the national average and violations rates more than four times the national rate during the years the Justice mines failed to pay penalties.

And GOP control of another state

quote:
Justice's switch means Republicans now have control of a record 34 governorships — tying a record set nearly a century ago in 1922 — and gives the GOP complete control of state government in 26 states.

If they get 37 states altogether THEN reversing the 17th will be doable. This is the end game..a one party state where the people don't even get to vote on who their Senators will be, only Representatives in the House.

Charming. Of course its always possible some Dem states will also go for this^^ tho unlikely under current circumstances.

The states righters would love to see this further devolution into provincial control of the country as a whole.. as withTrumps election the rural, sewn up Republican counties would decide for us all, even tho most of us don't live there.

I think both our cosmopolitan states righters here would be very disappointed by the actuality if it were visited upon them. I don't see either of them thriving under rural principles.

democrats are doing really, really well. They control the state legislatures and Governorships of 6, (six) states.
