Interesting. Russias export coal is up exactly the same amount. Apparently a big customer or ours is the UKRAINE. I wonder if their probs with coal production have anything to do with their receptiveness to American coal?

http://www.steelmint.com/news/russia-coal-exports-up-58-m-o-m-in-mar17-87075

"The Trump administration recently helped broker a deal to ship 700,000 tons of thermal coal from mines owned by Pennsylvania-based Xcoal Energy to Ukrainian state-owned power generator Centrenergo PJSC. Ukraine cannot access much of its domestic supply because of an ongoing conflict with rebels who control its coal-producing region."

Coal makes a comeback? Why?

You two are not only idiots, you are only useful idiots in the sense that you broadcast [in a minuscule way] ancient ideologies.

Coal is

  • Bad for the economy
  • Bad for the environment
  • Bad for the world we live in
  • And bad for the health and wellbeing of those who work in the coal industry

Why on earth would you want it "back"

Coal is great for the economy, and it doesn't adversely affect the the climate any more than any human activity does, which is zero. It's great that you are so loyal to the climate religion when your own priests don't believe in it. Who are you trying to convince? Try this mantra: "I saw the idiot, and the idiot was me."

It affects lungs, eyes, general health, water, air and ground. Those pesky regulations against dumping coal waste in waterways now removed, it will be even worse. Its not just the slag and by products of the coal itself but the chemicals used and produced. Black lung is no joke

I will never have a coal furnace again.

Who here has handled coal and it`s dust?

I wouldn't want a coal furnace, but that's not what coal is about.

Home furnaces.

Coal is about creating electricity (among other things) at a low cost, which all you Obama worshippers would have found out the hard way when your electric bills increased like your health premiums are had his plan not been stayed by the court.

You can't produce power with coal without burning it . It is mostly used for industry including the power industries but anyone who has had a coal furnace or fireplace knows what the immediate downsides are.

Domestic energy is a small % of our power generation/ foot print.

Mining and refining for use are also huge parts of the pollution coal creates

The power companies are not interested in coal much hence the EXPORT part of the equation...

If coal can't compete, so be it. If it can, let it.

The same goes for natural gas. Is coal supposed to be magic? Utter a chant? Wave a wand?
