So, the imbeciles in charge of ESPN pulled a sports announcer off an assignment to cover the coming football game between University of Virginia and William and Mary.

What crime, what gaffe, what faux pas did he
he commit?

He has the wrong name!

His name is Robert Lee!

Apparently, the crash dummy intellects at ESPN think Robert Lee is Robert E. Lee of civil war fame and didn't want to offend the snowflakes in Virginia.

Or, perhaps those idiots think Robert Lee is the reincarnation of Robert E. Lee.

Or, perhaps those morons at ESPN think Robert Lee is a descendant of Robert E. Lee.

Apparently, those managers at ESPN, who have the IQs of retarded sand fleas never bothered to take a look at Robert Lee.

Robert Lee is of ASIAN extraction.

This idiocy, along with lots of other idiocy at ESPN is the precise reason ESPN is losing viewers and subscribers in droves.

The American Thinker has thought of every possible scoffworthy reason he could.. but despite OVERthinking a story about as important as Trump looking at the sun for a couple of seconds before donning his sun -glasses, he couldnt come up with the real reason. Probly he cant conceive of anything ESPN might do that doesn't stink. And OF COURSE this sports station must be liberal... a common trait associated with jocks, right?

Trump stares down the Sun!

You can't tell the difference between fact and fiction. Between reality and farce. That video of Trump supposedly staring at the Sun was a joke, a farce from Tucker Carlson's show on Fox. Apparently, you never saw Trump with his eclipse shades actually looking at the eclipse.

ESPN is chock full for far left lunatics whose ideological nonsense bleeds over into their policies and even their "on air" comments.

Months ago, an announcement was made by ESPN that they were going to rein in or send packing, some of their more egregious leftist loons. So far, the very same blithering, blathering, bloviating, bombastic, bullshiiitting buffoons are still on the air. If ESPN wants to stay in business, the time to send the leftist lunatics packing...is now.

ESPN management pretend they didn't remove Asian announcer because of his name
Rick Moran

When blogger Clay Travis revealed that ESPN had removed football announcer Robert Lee from doing a University of Virginia game because he had the same name as the Confederate general, the network issued a statement explaining the decision.

"We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties. It's a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue."

Now CNN management has issued another statement that appears to contradict its original one:

In an internal memo, obtained by CNN, President John Skipper said "there was never any concern" that Lee's name "would offend anyone watching the Charlottesville game. The concern, Skipper explained, was for Lee and potential social media heckling.

"Among our Charlotte production staff there was a question as to whether – in these divisive times – Robert's assignment might create a distraction, or even worse, expose him to social hectoring and trolling," Skipper said in the memo.

"Since Robert was their primary concern, they consulted with him directly. He expressed some personal trepidation about the assignment and, when offered the chance to do the Youngstown State/Pitt game instead, opted for that game – in part because he lives in Albany and would be able to get home to his family on Saturday evening." ...

"I'm disappointed that the good intentions of our Charlotte colleagues have been intentionally hijacked by someone with a personal agenda, and sincerely appreciate Robert's personal input and professionalism throughout this episode," Skipper added.

Here's the tweet from CNN's Brian Stelter with the statement:

ESPN must really think its viewers are brain-dead. Calling the decision one of "countless routine decisions" is one thing. But to claim that there was "never any concern – by anyone at any level – that Robert Lee's name would offend anyone" watching the game is an outright lie. ESPN's people said exactly the opposite in the original statement – an explanation that resulted in an outpouring of criticism and ridicule.

ESPN put the burden for the controversy squarely on the shoulders of its employee, Mr. Lee. The broadcaster had to swallow this humiliation because ESPN has been laying off talent right and left in a bid to stem the flow of red ink that is the result of their sharp left turn to politicize sports. Would you question a blame-shifting statement by management if you knew you would then be dumped at the next opportunity? Lee took the high road and is keeping his mouth shut.

If ESPN is having trouble understanding why it is losing millions of viewers, all it has to do is look at the reaction to this statement.

Apparently you can't read. Here is what i said

despite OVERthinking a story about as important as Trump looking at the sun for a couple of seconds before donning his sun -glasses

This^ piece of non-news has done the rounds and i don't care if it was a joke on Fox.. they were not the only people reporting and it has been run into the ground by people making fun of his stupidity. A waste of time and energy and spite.

Jokes are great. When taken as news not so much. Who cares if he squinted at the sun for a second? I don't have eclipse glasses and i did just that.. it's no big deal if you're quick and careful. The story ran on Gratuitous malice.. as is the StinkinThinkers attempt to run down ESPN for allowing their guy to avoid harassment by the trolls on both sides

Leftist dingbats picked up the story and attempted to make something out of it...something that wasn't there.

But, that doesn't get the imbecilic leftists at ESPN off the hook for tanking one of their sports announcers...because of his name.

There's no intelligent life there.

They didnt tank him they reassigned him..after asking him what he wanted. He preferred to avoid hecklers likely from both sides.

So your "rightist dingbat" American Thinker is making a meal out of nothing too. Willful blindness doesn't erase the fact that the right indulge in way too much spite and malice too.

ESPN, more stupidity per square foot than any place other than Fake News CNN and MSNBC!

Thunder-buckets of Stupid – ESPN Pulls Game Announcer Robert Lee Because His Name Is Too “Triggering”…
August 22, 2017
sundance

If ever you doubted that ESPN was the sporting epicenter of liberalism, well, consider this the day you can put those doubts to rest.

In what can only be considered the most ridiculous, over-the-top, example of political correctness running amok ESPN has pulled a college football announcer from the game between William & Mary -vs- the University of Virginia because his name is Robert Lee.

Seriously, you just can’t make this stuff up. Oh, and Robert Lee is Asian (pictured left) but even his ethnicity couldn’t save him from the executive level stupidity and delicate sensibilities of ESPN.

Robert E. Lee reincarnated!

The executives in charge of programming and broadcasting actually had a meeting to decide that an Asian guy named Robert Lee was just too triggering. Here’s the statement from ESPN:

“We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name. In that moment it felt right to all parties. It’s a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play by play for a football game has become an issue.” (link)***(Hey buttheads, you made it THE ISSUE***

Leftist loons at ESPN said it would be easier for Lee to go home to see his family if he announced the Pitt game. Sorry lying leftists but the distance between Pitt and University of Virginia is almost EQUAL DISTANCE to Lee's home!

Lying leftists never tell the truth when a lie will suffice.

We also know what bothers leftist lunatics about American Thinker.

Leftist lunatics are America haters and anything America or American sends them into a "catatonic" state.

Lacking the ability to THINK, leftists resent the words...think, thought and thinker.
