"These 4 reasons make Hurricane Florence extremely dangerous"

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/11/us/why-hurricane-florence-is-so-dangerous/index.html

4. It's barreling toward people not used to big hurricanes

Really, CNN? This the southeast. We know what big hurricanes look like.

So much for fact checking!

Hurricane coverage is far better on the Al-Jazeera Channel. They covered both Florence and Manghkut objectively.
Hurricane Florence luckily was nothing like last year's Harvey and Irma. The danger from Florence is after the storm, in case the CAFO Pig Farm waste lagoons get flooded and overflow onto the infrastructure.

Thank you. So far, I'm good. We're expecting more flooding overnight and more impassable roads. But the power has stayed on, so that is something.

On the welcome signs into towns, Chamber of Commerce should have icons for hurricanes and storms, like scouts wear badges on a sash, or military with bars on their chests.

SV, our area went through H.Irma last year.
I was on the bus, and a really comical senior was saying that when he heard H.Florence was to hit the Carolinas, he automatically went to the supermarket and purchased an extra $225 in groceries, ready to hunker down, just in sympathy with you all!

There's been reports of loss of life, and certainly the ruin of homes in your states. An elderly established man was interviewed with a comment this morning there that he is nonplussed. He's never imagined this kind of destruction.

I guess it's hard to imagine unless you've BEEN through these. I know a lot of people make light of others... like Monday night Quarterbacks (football). But when it's YOU!!!!, hahah, it's BEST to listen and respond to what instructions are being given, and take it seriously.

I had seen a man who looked like a 30yo sports enthusiast being interviewed before the storm. He was a 'weather-denier'. UN-believable. His area was prime target. I wonder what he thought when he saw the destruction????

It's better to be PREPPED and for the storm to turn out mild, than to be a 'denier' and cause other-people to have to risk their own safety in order to 'rescue' you?. (Especially an able-bodied person like the oblivious jock! )
