Thank you President Trump

Middle-class income rose to the highest recorded levels in 2017 and the national poverty rate declined as the benefits of the strong economy lifted the fortunes of more Americans, the U.S. Census reported Wednesday.

Capitalism usually works from one Recession to the next Boom and the Boom to next bust.
If the Fed ensures that Banks do not repeat the mistakes of 2006-2007, then prosperity can continue.
As of now more than 50% of people who lost in the previous recession are still not out of the woords. Home prices of over 200K are still in 5 digits in many districts that collpased in 2008.

So economic planners have to be very careful as the times of a "Lull" in bad news give a false sense of security and enable speculators.

The reason it is higher than in the past is largely due to inflation.. according to the chart and my memory, in the 60s $61k was worth a whole lot more.. for example according to the calculator $61k 1963 dollars would be worth about $500k now.

$61k 2018 is worth about $7500 of 1963 money

In 1983 $24+k would be the equivalent

In 2000, $41k

The house my mother sold in 77 for 77k is currently on market for 700k with half the acreage.

So..are you celebrating inflation?

To credit an economy on fire with inflation just shows how little you understand capitalism. I wonder how you explain the lowering of poverty.

It is not just inflation, deficit has also increased. This is a ticking time bomb once Social Security and Medicaid are cut. Poverty will increase in the long term without decent healthcare.

"This is a ticking time bomb once Social Security and Medicaid"

Who says Social Security and Medicaid is going to be cut?

Oh yeah, that's the demorat plan. They already robbed $750 Billion from Medicare to fund the abomination known as Obamacare...and never paid it back to all those Americans who paid into it all their working lives.

Now, they're threatening to rob Medicare all over again. The Mafia is more honest than demorats.

Obama said:
IF YOU LIKE YOUR DOCTOR, YOU CAN KEEP YOUR DOCTOR.
IF YOU LIKE YOUR INSURANCE PLAN, YOU CAN KEEP YOUR INSURANCE PLAN

Lies, nothing but lies from leftist lunatic demorats.

"We have to have Obamacare because there's 29 million uninsured Americans"

After Obamacare, there was never a day when there were less than 29 million uninsured Americans.

Obama and his leftist lunatic fringe demorats wrecked the best health care delivery system the world has ever known...for nothing, no gain, only pain.

Enough, throw them all out of office.

Revenues have increased, and we recently had a surplus.

The deficit is rising, where is this fabled surplus? In unspent but dedicated funds?
