The Dems have politicized sexual assault, and they have shown that they don't care who they destroy to get power. Their new motto is "By any means necessary." There is no turning back from that.IP: Logged |

There is a thread here, visited repeatedly by jwhop, designed to paint DEMS only as abusers of women. It is full of allegations, many denied, drooled over as proof of the perversion of the accused and ONE party only, and when posts about CONVICTED Repubs are submitted they're punted, or ignored, as aberrations. What a shock it must have been to Poor Little Brett to find himself in the hotseat reminiscent of Clinton... for whom he urged the full screw application. Had Clinton admitted to his relations with Lewinsky - a consenting adult - many people would not have cared. If Kavanaugh hadn't lied or evaded pointed questions.. instead of pretending he's been a 100% boyscout all his life... if he hadn't punnted the "boofing" -and "devil's triangle" questions...if if if... Let's not pretend that either side is acting out of pure motives here. IP: Logged |

Let's face the facts here. Brett is highly qualified. He's a target of the baby killers.IP: Logged |

You deny that Brett is being targeted for being pro life? The Dems said they would fight his nomination at all costs. This was before any allegations. IP: Logged |

Im tired of repeating myself. The man lied and evaded so many times under oath - and not for the first time- a man who had no respect for that oath should not be a county judge let alone a SC justice. This is probly too long for you but it spells it out. The writer is also a graduate of Yale Law. http://www.currentaffairs.org/2018/09/how-we-know-kavanaugh-is-lying IP: Logged |

Oh and stop using pro-life as a synonym for anti- abortion. They are two different things. IP: Logged |

There is a great deal about Kavanaugh that is partisan, underhanded, dishonest and self righteous, all before he was even nominated or became a judge at all. His only statements on Roe v Wade make me think he is unlikely to try to overturn it.. unless Donboy influences him.. which is blatantly possible. IP: Logged |

Roe v. Wade is settled precedent. The POTUS has no control over the SCOTUS. Now you're just sounding ridiculous.IP: Logged |

Shocking. lol I don't need to discuss them with you. The notion of God given rights was a core belief among the founders of my country. It's right there in our Declaration of Independence. You do you though.

Too bad those same founders did not acknowledge that those god given rights applied to women, people of color and slaves. Would have rung so much truer if they had. Adam's wife told him so.. so please let's not excuse them on the grounds of status quo...IP: Logged |

Adams laughed at Abby when she brought this up, and rightfully so.white male land owners did us right for a long time. if the screeching maenads pounding on the SC door can't learn to control themselves and fast, best we go back to the beginning. IP: Logged |

Interesting. And sad. I had no idea you were so familiar with the Adams family. Screeching maenads, seriously? Were they by any chance carrying burning torches? IP: Logged |

Read their correspondence. She was discussing coverture laws. No torches. It was daytime.

Well thanks for correcting me it was Adams not Madison. And he may have laughed at her but that doesn't mean her concern was laughable. She was far from the only person who did not feel "done proud" by the landlandowning white men who denied legal identity to all other groups. This argument has Been going on since the revolution and drafting of the constitution. All men created equal was lip service not embodied in the constitution. IP: Logged |

Interesting write up. But since when do only Christians believe in "God or a universal spirit"? -and since when does "not sure" equal "yes"?when presented with more than a "yes or no" option, about eight in 10 say they believe and one in 10 say they aren't sure. Belief in God, regardless of how the question is phrased to Americans, is down from levels in past decades And as the Yes numbers appear to be going down over time(according to the Gallup write up), the fact that this poll was 2 years ago kinda deflates its relevance... doesn't it? As to the question...is America a Christian nation:The answer is absolutely YES. The numbers in Protestant denominations plus Catholics far outnumber the people in all other religions and atheists combined. IP: Logged |
