^^ I thought it was pro-business for the same reasons it is pro business to cut taxes and minimize regulations. What did I think before? I had a so called progressive mindset, where I felt that business owed to workers things like security and jobs. It was not until I became a business owner myself and I understood the risks associated with opening and running a business and my stance changed. Workers should not look at a business like some kind of father figure who is supposed to take care of them and provide for all of their needs. That is entitlement mentality. But don't get me wrong, I don't believe business should overwork their workers and extract the last bit of juice of them, put them in dangerous conditions, verbally abuse them, underpay them while at the same time generating great profits for the owners. If a business is struggling, I understand the need to cut the fat in order to survive, and often that means slicing into worker's benefits and even pay. But when a business is doing well, I think it is a matter of personal decency to make sure workers are also well taken care of. Too often, business owners can let the bottom line turn them into greedy insensitive a-holes. Hence the need for some regulations to protect workers. IP: Logged |

At 35 months in, Obama was at 9.3 percent unemployment, whereas President Trump was at 3.9 percent at 35 months in. quote: Originally posted by Belage: Huh?To be fair, Obama inherited a recession/depression. By the end of his second term in 2016, unemployment rate was 4.7 percent. Doesn't he deserve any credit for that? https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2017/article/unemploymen t-holds-steady-for-much-of-2016-but-edges-down-in-fourth-quarter.htm

I agree that employers should not be allowed to abuse employees. However, employers can spend their profits however they please. If employees don't like their pay, they are free to work elsewhere. IP: Logged |

Don't make me decide who's crazy between you and President Trump. You're a dead bang loser in that contest. IP: Logged |
