AG William Barr responded to questions from House Judiciary Committee on July 28, 2020.

Barr has a sense of humor. The Democrats, not so much.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD)

quote:
Are you aware that the director of the church, the Episcopal Church of Washington and the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church nationally, along with the Catholic bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington all denounced this police assault on the civil rights and civil liberties of the people?

WB:

quote:
Did they do that before or after the fire was put out?

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA)

quote:
So how can you sit here and tell us “Why should I investigate the President of the United States" if you’re not even aware of the facts concerning the President using the pardon or commutation power to swap the silence of a witness?

WB:

quote:
Because we require a reliable predicate before we open a criminal investigation.

WB:

quote:
This is a hearing. I thought I was the one that’s supposed to be heard.

(Democrats repeatedly interrupted AG Barr when he attempted to answer their questions by saying: "I’m reclaiming my time," over and over again.)

Democrat, whose name is not visible.

quote:
But, in fact, you have no evidence that foreign countries can successfully swing elections with counterfeit ballots do you?

WB:

quote:
No, I don’t, but I have common sense.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA):

quote:
…the body right here would rise up if they [rioters] decided to go tonight and paint the capitol building?

WB:

quote:
This body, I’m not sure.

To his credit, AG Barr maintained his composure throughout.

The Democrats ordered Attorney General William Barr to sit in a chair while they hurled invective at him.

What was so funny is how transparent it all was.

Barr has got a razor sharp wit underneath a deadpan demeanor. That was fun to watch.

Even foreigners watching this were absolutely appalled at how the democrats treated Barr. They tried a public shaming, it seems, but they’re really bad at it. If they wanted to humiliate or incriminate Barr, they should have at least let him speak. It was a complete embarrassment. Nadler was dozing off, and refused to give Barr a five minute break after forcing him to wait an hour before the hearing even began.

Barr was right. “You’re a real class act,” Nadler.

I haven't seen anyone support him. I've only seen it here, which is unsurprising.

Of the five groups (strong liberal, liberal, moderate, conservative, strong conservative), only one group feels comfortable expressing their opinions. That is the “strong liberal”, because that is what is deemed “safe” and “politically correct”, supported by big tech like twitter and Facebook, as well as the mainstream media. Iirc, strong conservatives are at 77% unlikely to voice their opinion. The public perception of the world is completely skewed due to cancel culture. What we see online is a complete farce.

Haven’t seen anyone defend him? That’s because they are afraid to speak up, for fear of the mob. For every one strong conservative you see, there are three others holding their tongue.

EDIT: I am a liberal-to-moderate, by the way. A centrist with leanings to laissez-faire economics.

Only a complete and total libtard would support the kind of asinine and childish behavior directed at Barr and not see a problem with it. The House Dems are reacting out of fear, because a slew of indictments are about to follow in the very near future over defrauding the FISA court and the fake Russia investigation of the Trump administration.

Randall is right. The Democrats know indictments are coming. This hearing by House Democrats was an attempt to discredit AG Barr, prior to the findings of John Durham and others being made public. This is a preemptive attempt to cast doubt or delegitimize the results of the investigations by tarring AG Barr.

It didn't work. Obama and Biden are off the hook, but everyone else is fair game. These are federal charges, and the fed almost always gets convictions.

OT: Re: President Trump's tweet about postponing the election.

Glad I was able to get the very dishonest LameStream Media to finally start talking about the RISKS to our Democracy from dangerous Universal Mail-In-Voting (not Absentee Voting, which I totally support!).

He played them...again.
