Why does it have to be worked into a huge bill, including all kinds of things that they will never agree on?

If you watched real news, you would know that this is precisely what President Trump asked for months ago.

I’ve hardly watched ANY news, because I’ve been trying to cheer up, but what’s the point? I’m asking people here if it’s possible, that’s all. Why can’t two parties who are supposed to represent and help us, just agree to an amount, and keep it separate?

If you watched REAL news, you might actually learn something about the people you continuously insult.

Trump wants to starve Americans to death.
They could have let this one go and worked on another. But no Trump is playing the power game as typical.

I thought he asked for $2000 a person, which surprised me. Someone said he had just screwed McConnell over. Tonight, I heard that he vetoed the bill, because of something relating to social media.

I’m getting food together for the food bank, and trying to think of what else I can do to help.

This is what he vetoed? He shoved this aside, because of his pettiness over one thing?

People are begging for food at places. I have seen videos. Trump has delayed everything. He wants people to crack under pressure.

There are two bills.

One is the NDAA, which has been vetoed. This relates mostly to military expenditures, among other things. The reasons for the veto are documented on the White House website for anyone’s perusal. He mainly wanted legislation regarding section 230 protections that insulate big tech companies from litigation in regards to censorship. In short, Alphabet (Google/YouTube), Twitter, and Facebook are all overtly censoring users and abusing their status as platforms. They are acting as publishers.

The second bill is the coronavirus relief that was bundled with the omnibus spending bill. This one he will veto, barring an increase of the stimulus relief AND removing the copious amount of pork. This bill gives more money in foreign aid than it gives to Americans, which is itself problematic. It takes $2700 dollars out of every Americana’s pocket for the privilege of getting $600 in return. It is also a whopping 5,500+ pages long, and congress was expected to read, comprehend, consider the ramifications, and make a decision on how to vote in the span of a mere four hours. We still don’t know everything included in this, and is a prime example why the concept of “vote to know what’s in it” is inherently flawed. It should be vetoed on principle.

Better yet, open up the country and let people get back to work instead of printing money we don’t have. Anyone trying to claim either bill was vetoed for a single reason is lying to you, and framing their story to fit a bias.

Senator Paul has a starter list for some of the ridiculous spending measures nestled into the “coronavirus relief” and omnibus. Just a small example.

Lengthy thread, but gives a good idea how this trash is so wasteful, and not worth the taxes stolen from the people.

Here is another lengthy thread, with even more nonsense buried in the bill:

“Why can’t they just work on sending people money, separately?”

The short answer is because they are corrupt, Teasel. They use a situation like this, where people are desperate for relief, to pass things they couldn’t otherwise pass and send money to their donors, friends, etc. They slip it in there and figure the public won’t notice or care because the average person doesn’t pay attention to anything more than the fact that they got a check. Teasel, they do stuff like this all the time. They are corrupt.

Hence Congress wants to own the Fed bank so that this doesn't happen. Billions of dollars were spent on the secret space program during the Bush Jrs presidency and 9/11 event eclipsed the media coverage on that story.

We need to get away from a dictatorial type of government. Trump has no clue what the meat of the issue is. Once again poor leadership as many Americans freeze and die waiting for food. Many homeowners are scared when strangers come in search of food and they don't have a personal gun or live alone.

Totally NUTS. All you need now is a banana, ice cream and whipped cream and you'd be a banana split.

He, Trump did specify $2,000 per adult Americans along with money to keep businesses open AND a clean bill excluding nonsense bullshiiite money to groups and organizations which haven't seen even one missed paycheck since the China Virus hit America.

Why don't you know that PeeLousy's bullshiite bill was more than 5500 pages of pure pork covering almost everything under the sun...except real help for laid off Americans and businesses to hire them back?

Because Facebook, Twitter, Google etc. interfered in the 2020 election, Trump wants their section 230 immunity from suit rescinded.

You need to educate yourself on so many aspect of life.

Trump is with Germany and other Elitist whose plans are to wipe out the many in the world who are not productive. Many Americans are dying of hunger and depression. Signs are everywhere of Satan's prince. Germany's chancellor and Russia did not congratulate Biden on his election. Down with fascism in America. We had enough. We are not slaves.

Why else would they not plan for the stimulus check to arrive in time. They are touching the ssn program, food stamps, what next?

Wake up Jwhop. Nuff of fascism. Boycott those wealthy men who have committed crime against humanity and earth driven by greed.

If Trump really wanted to help, why not Sign an Executive Order for 1500-2000 dollars each to every American earning below 40K per annum prior to March 2020, and all those on Unemployment Benefits?
Surely that is possible for the President?

No, the power of the purse lies with congress. That is not a power the president has.

"No, the power of the purse lies with congress. That is not a power the president has."

So right!

Specifically, all spending bills are to originate in the US House of Representatives.

No federal money may be spent unless 1st appropriated by Congress.

Lets assume Congress approves the budget, what is the guarantee that GOP in the Senate signs it? 80-90 million Americans are in dire straits right now on the verge of poverty.
They need money pronto.
If GOP Approves, what is the Guarantee that Trump will sign it or not?
Why make masses suffer just for Ego?

There are no guarantees both houses of Congress will pass a particular bill. No guarantee the President will sign it either.

In the case of this 5500 page monstrosity..which is twice the size of the inept, incompetent, useless and worthless ObamaCare bill, this cockamamie boondoggle gives billions for ridiculous projects all over the world and very little to help Americans. This bill is supposed to be about Covid 19 relief for Americans.

Additionally, Trump said months ago he wouldn't sign the bill(s) unless social media section 230 exemptions were removed.

So, better pare this boondoggle legislation down to size, focus on relief for Americans, remove section 230 exemptions for social media and let democrats shove their wish list where the sun don't shine. Otherwise, let Congress try to override Trump's veto, after which he will beat Congress black and blue for their unfocused spending excesses.

But the prez has to sign it. The game of Check and balance being played.
