Is this for real?

I’m seeing it reported that several representatives who tested positive for COVID-19 over the past few days, and were thus in the quarantine period, were allowed to go in to vote for Speaker of the House. Apparently they made a separate section for them with some plexiglass where they cast their votes.

People are saying it was because Nancy Pelosi was desperate for votes to retain the Speaker position. She did only win by a few votes.

I mean.... are they serious? Does their hypocrisy know no end?

Did you guys hear this and if so what do you think?

I think it’s stupid, but not even close to being as harmful and stupid as those choosing to attend super-spreader parties and rallies by republicans.

But riots, looting, and burning down buildings are just fine, because the virus knows the difference.

Speaking of which: the proud boys and their siblings in racism/sexism/fascism are promising actual violence. White supremacists were the ones burning down buildings, and shooting protesters. Now they hate the police, and anyone who goes against Trump - anyone who wants to follow the law.

"White supremacists were the ones burning down buildings"

Blithering, blathering, bloviating BS.

But, that's leftist's speak.

Did they do this, so that they can impeach again? If so, I’m all for it. He has now lost the support of the saner republicans.

There was zero social distancing. Why would they have to impeach a President who will be gone on January 20? And why hasn’t Harris resigned from the Senate? You are so misinformed that it is shocking. They met to vote for Pelousy as speaker. She could only afford to lose five votes, and ten had voted against her last time—COVID be damned. It’s good to see that you are fine with super spreading as long as you support the cause.

Hmm...I don’t see how this is ‘not even close’ to the republican events, but I guess that’s a matter of opinion. I mean, these people did just test positive for COVID a few days ago. No one knows what will become a “super-spreader” event, that only becomes clear after the fact. So this could have been a super-spreader also, or maybe it wasn’t. No one can know that beforehand. But even if it wasn’t, that doesn’t mean that their judgment was any better than those attending events that wound up being super-spreaders right?

The difference though is the hypocrisy. The hypocrisy is thick when people who have been advocating for the more strict shutdowns then act like the virus is not as big of a deal when they need some extra votes.

I don’t really like it when we politicize a virus, but if we are discussing the virus in terms of Republican vs Democrat, that is how I see it.
