For context, this isn't the first time Seuss has earned the ire of a special interest group.

Because Laytonville, in northern California, is a logging town. And the Lorax was deemed anti-logging industry. Almost goes without saying this little Fahrenheit 45 footnote was met at the time with much laughter and criticism. Although the Board presented its decision as one introduced by local parents, everyone knew the logging industry was behind it. duh So who is behind the recent wave of removals culminating in a cease and desist publishing order of 5 Seuss books by the publisher? Well, Random House is the publisher who will no longer publish. Why??? Because Dr Seuss Enterprises asked them to. Their statement :

I’ve had my mind on other things, but this is nothing new. How many books have been banned by religious people? Removed from schools. There were people going after the Harry Potter books. IP: Logged |

It's new because it's "cancel culture" controlled by the rabid mob. We are not talking about a few fringe groups and books. This covers everything (nothing is off limits) with the goal to eradicate history (among other things). You don't see the religious right changing the names of schools, trying to change the names of military bases, or tearing down statues. IP: Logged |
