Yesterday, Governor Abbott agreed to use a billion dollars to use state and private lands to build hundreds of miles of border wall. This will set off a controversy between the state of Texas and the federal government. Abbott will also deputize citizens, so they can arrest illegal immigrants for trespassing.

Building a wall seems okay.

But deputizing citizens to arrest illegal immigrants? That has the potential to be messy and rife with abuse.

It is unfortunate that the Biden administration had to pretend they are "compassionate" and would handle the immigration crisis better than Trump. They have made things worse.

People don’t even need a permit to carry soon. I think any pretense of the governor wanting anyone to do the right thing, is all gone.
