Interesting that he got rid of his whitish sounding name, and chose a name that pretended to make him a member of an ethnic group.

I bet most italians who voted for him had no clue.

Also, it's interesting that a German name sounds "whitish" to an (I believe?) non white ear, but an Italian name does not. No offense taken or intended - I am neither German nor Italian. Just curious.

i didnt know he was half italian.

in new york, being italian was considered a lower form of whiteness, especially if your ancesters came from Sicily,

dont know if things have changed, just keeping it real.

Yes, older members of my British American family didn't consider southern Europeans full fledged Whites. They were White ofc, just a lower class of White. And these were old school Kennedy liberals! Whether Meds are really White is still a matter of debate in Alt right circles. Likewise, have you noticed that southern Euros will often use the same insults on northerners as Black will- uptight, boring, unseasoned chicken etc. Lol its curious and funny.
I suppose this is something akin to colorism within the US Black community?
