People are too damn selfish': Mom of 10-year-old Va. COVID victim urges masking, vaccines

http://wjla.com/amp/news/local/mother-of-10-year-old-virginia-covid-19-victim-teresa-sperry-urges-masking-vaccinations

WASHINGTON (7News) —
A southeastern Virginia family is mourning the loss of 10-year-old Teresa Makenzie Sperry to COVID-19. Teresa is one of a dozen people under the age of 20 in Virginia to succumb to the virus.

Suffolk Public Schools shared a letter with the community about Teresa's passing on Tuesday.

“ Out of respect for the family, we will not release the student's name and will do our part to guard the privacy of the family," said the letter, which is signed by superintendent Dr. John Gordon, III.

But Teresa's mother, Nicole Sperry, shared the letter on her own Facebook page, writing: "I will share her name. Her name is Teresa Makenzie Sperry."

Sperry went on to say her daughter's death was preventable.

"I will not hide anymore," she wrote. "My beautiful girl was taken from me because people are too damn selfish to care about what could happen to others. I wasn't. We weren't. We wore our mask[s] because there are too many in our tribe who are at risk. My daughter was not at risk. And now she is gone. This horrible excuse of a letter is not acceptable. Want to know what you can do to honor my lovely girl? Wear a damn mask! Get vaccinated! Social distance! And most importantly stop complaining and keep your sick kids at home. Because in the end you will still get to hug yours."

Pediatric COVID-19 cases have spiked since students started going back to school in August.

I'll spare the rest of you a google and just say that 1) rocketing childhood obesity rates need to be acknowledged and attended to asap. I'm so very tired of seeing unhealthy, overweight young children. The adults in the room have a lot to answer for

And 2) This young girl passed 5 days post initial symptoms. That's not how covid tends to work so reasonably we could suspect there is more to the story

Regrettably some will be all too busy exploiting her death for political clout to pay her the respect she's due.

RIP.

Cute little girl but overweight, just as I expected. But I am sure her mama thinks she was perfectly healthy.

People are not taking childhood obesity seriously.

I went back to look at my class picture when I was 10 year old. In that class of 40 students, not one child was overweight.

I remember growing up, an overweight kid was a RARITY!

The mother will not take responsibility for her role in her child's death.

Well, it's not specifically the mother. That she probably thought she had a "healthy" kid is quite telling.

It's society's normalization of childhood obesity. And our inability to have a NATIONAL conversation about the epidemic of obesity in children and adults without the threat of being accused of fat shaming. Political correctedness is literally killing people.

It's the lack of a concerted national health policy that would take obesity seriously and make tackling it a priority:

*-Insurance premium incentives for overweight/obese people to lose weight
*-making gym memberships tax deductible or
*-giving vouchers to poor families for gym membership
*-Healthier school lunches instead of the usual bready fried stuff they serve kids
*-Increasing physical ed time for kids

Etc, etc...

Instead of hypocritical concerns about Kids and Covid which are only designed to further the Covid vaccine for kids agenda, what would an HONEST concern for kids and Covid look like?

It would look like this. Campaigns, articles and TV commercials directed at parents:

quote:
Parents, is your kid at higher risk for Covid Complications? Research show that overweight or obese kids are disproportionately represented in Covid complications and mortality. Please check the healthy weight chart for your child's height and if your child's weight does not fall within the healthy range, you need to take action to protect your kid, NOW!

And there would be directives, resources and other support system for parents to address this issue and tackle it.

Anything else is just BS distraction noise, fearmongering and psych-op for the sole purpose of furthering vaccine agendas and further controlling the population without providing the healthy solutions we need.
