Straight from your rather biased article:

“Additionally, for those instances of a vaccinated person getting a breakthrough case, yes, they can be as infectious as an unvaccinated person. But they are likely contagious for a shorter period of time when compared with the unvaccinated”

So, your clickbait headline is BS even by the author of the article’s own admission.

I am going to reprint the results from the study the Atlantic article in the OP uses to make its point:

quote:
Results The mean viral trajectories of alpha and delta infections resembled those of non-VOI/VOC infections. Vaccine breakthrough infections exhibited similar proliferation dynamics as infections in unvaccinated individuals (mean peak Ct: 20.5, 95% credible interval [19.0, 21.0] vs. 20.7 [19.8, 20.2], and mean proliferation time 3.2 days [2.5, 4.0] vs. 3.5 days [3.0, 4.0]); however, vaccinated individuals exhibited faster clearance (mean clearance time: 5.5 days [4.6, 6.6] vs. 7.5 days [6.8, 8.2]).

Basically, if I understand correctly, and please correct me if I am wrong, when infected, the vaccinated are likely to spread coronavirus for 5.5 days, while the unvaccinated are likely to spread coronavirus for 7.5 days.

Vaxxed: 5.5 days
Unvaxxed: 7.5 days

My fellow Americans,

My patience is wearing thin.

I must mandate vaccines because if you are vaccinated and you become infected, you will spread covid for 5.5 days instead of the 7.5 days that you will spread it if you are not vaccinated.

Imagine what would happen to this deck of cards if the officials actually told the truth plain and simple.

teasel, next time someone says that the vaxxed are as likely to spread covid as the unvaxxed, you can correct them by saying:

Nope! According to a study of infected, the vaxxed can spread covid for 5.5 days, whereas the unvaxxed can spread covid for 7.5 days.

And then send them the study, not the article. I am sure they will appreciate this very valuable piece of information and they will beg to get the jab.

To be fair, 2 days of a difference IS a difference. Whether that is a significant difference statistically depends on other tests they or may not have done on the data. There is of course personal opinion on what is "significant" as well.

It would be interesting to know how many people one would infect per day, to try colour in the picture a bit more. Are 2 days equal to 1 person or 5, for example?

Fairness would depend on how someone feels about his or her body, if they agree to be injected with substances whose mid and long term side effects are unknown, just to shave off 2 days of 7 days infectious state.

But go ahead. Please tell people the truth, that the difference is 2 days, and see how many people are going to submit willingly to mandates, and how many people will continue to blame the unvaxxed as sole superspreaders for this virus.

My point is that the article is clickbait. I fear that we are going to see some serious side-effects on a mass scale in the coming years—especially with children (jab first and then wait and see what happens).

The new Omicron Variant has been spreading largely from Airports, where 90% and above are double jabbed.
The two cases in Israel were from triple jabbed.

This is a Pandemic of the Vaxxed since 2021.

The 2 initial people who came down with Omicron in South Africa were fully vaccinated. Apparently, tney might have had some underlying immune disorder like HIV. But they were still vaccinated.
