What if people don’t comply? Will they send in the gestapo?

What if we could talk about this, without comparing it to the holocaust, since one has nothing to do with the other?

Here in Germany, you have to show proof of vaccination or recovery AND a negative test taken that day (known as “2G+”) to enter a nonessential establishment. The employee (bouncer, bartender, server, etc) will check at the entrance. We use an app called CovPass http://www.digitaler-impfnachweis-app.de/en

“What if people don’t comply?” They’re turned away. It’s as simple as that. If it’s 2G+ rule, versus just only 2G, even the vaccinated/recovered without an additional negative COVID test aren’t allowed inside. Happened to me the other day when the rule was passed; we forgot to get tested before we left for the bar. We moved on to a bar that was 2G versus 2G+

Tests are free again. There’s a free COVID testing site on almost every street corner

Don’t shoot the messenger. Just explaining how it works here

Spoken by the one who called President Trump a Nazi.

I meant what if establishments refuse to comply? Germany is about to mandate the vaccine, correct?

Mandating the vaccine might go against German human rights laws - so probably not… I’m not certain

Establishments comply. If they don’t, they will get fined, most likely. Like how all restaurants in the US are tested for heath code standard and violations. Same regulatory procedure.

The 2G rule doesn’t apply for to-go orders, so outdoor seating is permitted for unvaccinated. Also, in general for Germany, it’s legal to drink in public spaces… so I guess many can go without the indoor spaces of nonessential establishments to socialize.

On public transport, the rule is 3G: means you can be unvaccinated but must show proof of negative test (alongside yer valid ticket lol) in case of the ticket controller.

Germany, culturally, tends to goes by a honor system. For example, people ride the subway without buying a ticket (since there’s no gates at station terminals)... but if you’re caught doing this, the fine is hefty…

Right. what I pulled up on the net about this..
http://www.thelocal.de/20211129/what-to-know-about-the-mandatory-covid-jab-debate -in-germany/

“How would a general vaccine mandate [in Germany] work?

As you might expect, this wouldn’t be a case of physically forcing anyone to get vaccinated, but rather of enshrining the need to do so in law. People who aren’t registered as vaccinated will likely recieve a letter reminding to book an appointment, and a deadline by which to do so. If after a certain grace period, people still haven’t go their jabs, they’ll probably be issued with a hefty fine.”

😬

“Would a vaccine mandate be legal?

There’s been a lot of discussion over mandatory Covid vaccinations and whether such a law could contravene the German constitution. Politicians from the liberal FDP – who tend to be against compulsory jabs – have claimed that making jabs compulsory could go against the right to bodily autonomy that’s mentioned in the constitution.”
