I need context.I need to know what is the USUAL or average numbers of house members of any party who quit before midterms in previous years. IP: Logged |

According to Roll Call, an average of 22 House Members retire each cycle. That's 22 members average total among democrats and republicans, meaning both.

As usual, Jwhop coming through!  Thank you for the information. That's what i needed to know to understand the significance of having 25 Democrats so far not running for reelection. It is an UNUSUALLY large number.

Yes, stand alone numbers are meaningless with out context.In this case, 25 democrats not running for reelection in the House exceeds the average number of both democrats and republicans not seeking reelection. And...I think there's more to come. Bad news for Nancy PeeLousy's dream of another stint as Speaker of the House. My advice, save all your documents PeeLousy. Pelousy refusing to allow the National Guard to be called on January 6 makes me wonder about her involvement—along with all the people wearing earpieces, the person flagging people into the building (why wasn’t he arrested?), and the guy on the FBI’s Most Wanted List who was taken off it (informant?). The real truth about that day will come out, but we will just have to wait another year for it to be revealed. IP: Logged |
