Healthcare Workers Denied Religious Exemptions to Receive $10 Million in Vaccine Mandate Settlement Katherine Hamilton 15 Aug 2022Healthcare workers at NorthShore University Health System in Illinois are expected to receive $10.3 million in a “first-of-its-kind” class action settlement over the hospital’s coronavirus vaccine mandate, the Washington Examiner reported Monday. The lawsuit was brought by 13 employees because the hospital “unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate, according to Liberty Counsel, which represented the employees. Liberty Counsel says it works to advance “religious freedom, the sanctity of human life and the family through strategic litigation............. http://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/08/15/healthcare-workers-denied-religious-exemptions-receive-10-million-vaccine-mandate-settlement/ IP: Logged |

yes and no. 10 Millions is not a lot after the lawyers take their cut. Each worker will receive about $25,000 each. And Big Pharma will make it up to the hospitals because they are their biggest backers. It will be just the cost of doing business for them... IP: Logged |

Each worker will receive about $25,000 each. The big question is, are those workers being reinstated? If not, they are still out of a job and unlikely to be hired by other hospitals for being uncooperative... IP: Logged |

People should sue trump. Why are you trying to deflect from what’s going on with him? Also, some of his supporters are promising violence if he is charged. Y’allqaeda. You don’t care about justice. IP: Logged |

How do you figure they only get $25,000? Ten million divided by 13 plaintiffs is $769,230.769 (under Title VII, court costs and attorney fees are paid by the other party). And even in suits where the statute doesn't require this (most suits nowadays), lawyers can't typically keep more than 40 percent on a contingency fee basis. Otherwise, lawyers charge in billable hours. IP: Logged |

The lawsuit was brought by 13 employees, but there was a settlement agreement for over 500 employees. Plus, those who didn't lose their jobs will still get $3,000 for being forced to take the jab."The state’s Northern District Court reached a settlement agreement on July 29, meaning NorthShore will compensate roughly 500 health care employees “who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells,” Liberty Counsel stated. “This settlement should also serve as a strong warning to employers across the nation that they cannot refuse to accommodate those with sincere religious objections to forced vaccination mandates,” added Horatio Mihet, Liberty Counsel vice president of legal affairs and chief litigation counsel. The federal district court must approve the settlement, and NorthShore employees who were denied religious exemptions will have the opportunity to comment, object, request to opt out, or submit a claim. Liberty Counsel estimates that employees who were fired or resigned because of their religious refusal to receive a coronavirus vaccination will receive $25,000 each. Employees who say they were forced to get vaccinated against their religious beliefs to keep from being fired will receive roughly $3,000 each." IP: Logged |
