DePape, the man who attempted to kill Nancy Pelosi's husband and was hunting for the Speaker herself, consumed the same diet of Newsmax, Fox News and far-right social media as millions of other Americans. And as people like Marjorie Taylor Greene have urged, he took action. The attacker's social media is filled with far-right conspiracy theories about the "stolen" election, COVID being "fake", and "globalists" attacking American democracy. If this sounds like a regular evening with Tucker Carlson, you're right. Violent words, violent actions.
