The train derailment, but the republicans keep getting away with **** here, too.The derailment happened a couple of counties over from me. I learned about it on twitter, when it happened, and followed the journalist who was arrested at a press conference. This was what they were trying to avoid, when they were going to strike in December. I didn't agree with the democrats stopping it, but either way, people here would have found fault with them. Norfolk Southern deliberately classified the contents as non-hazardous, to save money and regulatory inconveniences. They lied. Hydrochloride acid is in the air, over the county, and probably neighboring ones. One woman said that people are lying about the extent of it. She said that she is fifteen miles away, and they’re fine, so Ohio wasn’t “Chernobyl’d”. Anyway, the company made billions more last year, and overpaid their CEO’s, as usual. IP: Logged |

Norfolk Southern is playing it down obvs, and the media and gov are following suit obvs, but some news is trickling out and it looks quite bad.Theyre one of those big players the average person doesn't hear about. But their slimy paws are in everything from school boards to police training. They're funding Cop City, the proposed police training compound in Georgia. Controlled burn and burial of containments, EPA stalling on water test results, the usual Many reporting illness, fish die off, livestock die off etc. Ohio EPA says they're aware of the dead fish but insist its no cause for concern lol As with all other chemical/industrial crimes, info release is guarded by the criminal. It's been something hearing so many Lefties laugh and jeer at this very serious environmental and health disaster. Claiming the "yokels" deserved it for voting Right, and suggesting this will be a good lesson for them. These are the same pro urban, anti rural Lefties who routinely condemn so called rednecks and their so called backwards culture.
