"I want to drive home the point that a molar "pregnancy" is not a pregnancy and will NEVER result in a live birth. I don't know what these doctors were thinking but holy ******* **** , hello malpractice. /1

I realize these laws are vague, on purpose to scare docs but c'mon people, there comes a time when you have to do the right thing. Forcing a woman with a cancer to sit in her car to wait for a deadly complication ain't it. /2

How about you treat her appropriately and see what happens? You have medical science, ethics and the majority of Americans on your side. Why not give it a try? /3

I realize being the first to challenge these laws will be tough, jail time, lawyer fees but do you think your life will get better if you sit back and comply? I guarantee it will get worse. Once emboldened these republicans will pass crazier laws. /4

What will you do when they outlaw BC, rape pregnancy prophylaxis or effective HIV tx? Think about it. Is that an environment in which you want to practice? What about trans kids and adults? /5

How much harm are you willing to tolerate? Sure, you can flee to a blue state but you'd better get on it because your fellow docs are thinking the same. How many jobs will be available? Might be time to stay and fight. /6

You have compassion, medical science and ethics on your side, they have religious nutjobs who think a molar pregnancy and ectopics are viable on theirs. You would win./7

This twitter link (shocker) leads to a Jezebel article. Jezebel is bottom of the barrel slop. But anyway. The Jezebel piece was picked up from NPR. NPR interviewed the woman in question. They did not investigate her story. As far as I can tell, the woman offered no evidence to support her story.

But let's throw caution to the wind and assume everything she said is true and occurred just as she said it. If so, she is about to become fabulously wealthy after the malpractice suits, evidence for which I sincerely hope her lawyers are gathering as we type. I wish her well. F the medical industry.
