I know this is a question that would have some people thinking I'm naive, but the extreme republicans in my State, have ads and billboards that are outright lying about an important issue.

They also decided to ban special elections at some point in the past year, only to pull this, in order to try to keep us from enshrining women's rights into our constitution, if it passes in November. Now, I'm hopeful that the issue won't pass, but there are people posting images of ads they've seen, telling them that if it doesn't, your parental rights will be affected, that your 2a rights will be affected, etc. That isn't right, they are lying to the citizens who have to vote on it. Ballot language can be confusing enough at times, and now this.

There are, of course, a couple of people who are posting that this is about abortion - they don't want separation of church and state - but the majority I've seen on social media, since it's been lit up about this, are "no" votes. Even people I've talked with in the past, who are against abortion, because they realize that this affects everyone, and isn't a temporary thing.

Because political speech is protected free speech, and to be honest, what you have called lies in the past have actually been true, and the same goes for the buzz words, “conspiracy theories.” People are expected to do their own research.

"Why isn't it illegal to lie in political ads?"

Because the Justice Dept would have to prosecute all democrat politicians.

Like when Biden said he was going to unite the country, he was going to be the Great Unifier:
