Children are not allowed to vote, to buy alcohol and mind altering drugs, to have sex with adults. Yet somehow, they should be be able to take experimental drugs whose long term safety have not been established, and get medical mutilation procedures that will affect the trajectory of the rest of their lives. All based on the notion that they think they are born in the wrong body?

That's compassion?

Youtube is now full of people who are detransitioning. There have always been detransitioners, but Youtube and mainstream media prevented them from coming out and telling their stories. Compassion is protecting children from those irreversible or life changing decisions. Once they turn adults ie of legal age, they can do whatever the heck they want with their bodies!
