The Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) released a second report on the events surrounding January 6 as well his investigation into the weaponized J6 Committee on Tuesday [December 17, 2024].

Among the findings in the report:

quote:
1. Former Representative Liz Cheney colluded with “star witness” Cassidy Hutchinson without Hutchinson’s attorney’s knowledge.

2. Former Representative Liz Cheney should be investigated for potential criminal witness tampering based on the new information about her communication.

So, it looks like they have the receipts for #1, but maybe not for the more serious charge #2, given the wording: "potential criminal witness tampering..."

As previously reported, Loudermilk obtained January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson’s Signal messages which revealed she was directly communicating with J6 Vice Chair Liz Cheney in 2022.

So, the previous report from the committee shows they do have the receipts for Finding #1.

Cheney pushed back on Loudermilk's report in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying the report "intentionally disregards the truth and the Select Committee’s tremendous weight of evidence."

What she doesn't say is that the J6 committee disregarded exculpatory evidence and testimony that contradicted their narrative.

The committee also destroyed evidence. Now, why would they destroy their "tremendous weight of evidence."

quote:
"January 6th showed Donald Trump for who [he] really is – a cruel and vindictive man who allowed violent attacks to continue against our Capitol and law enforcement officers while he watched television and refused for hours to instruct his supporters to stand down and leave," Cheney said.

"The January 6th Committee’s hearings and report featured scores of Republican witnesses, including many of the most senior officials from Trump’s own White House, campaign and Administration. All of this testimony was painstakingly set out in thousands of pages of transcripts, made public along with a highly detailed and meticulously sourced 800 page report. Now, Chairman Loudermilk’s 'Interim Report' intentionally disregards the truth and the Select Committee’s tremendous weight of evidence, and instead fabricates lies and defamatory allegations in an attempt to cover up what Donald Trump did. Their allegations do not reflect a review of the actual evidence, and are a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth. No reputable lawyer, legislator or judge would take this seriously," Cheney continued.

Notice that she doesn't deny that she communicated with Hutchinson without Hutchinson's lawyer present, and she doesn't push back against the "witness tampering" allegation.

This passage indicates the committee has the evidence supporting its allegation in Finding #2 - witness tampering.

quote:
"Evidence uncovered by the Subcommittee revealed that former Congresswoman Liz Cheney tampered with at least one witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, by secretly communicating with Hutchinson without Hutchinson’s attorney’s knowledge.," it added. “This secret communication with a witness is improper and likely violates 18 U.S.C. 1512. Such action is outside the due functioning of the legislative process and therefore not protected by the Speech and Debate clause."

quote:
“The Federal Bureau of Investigation must also investigate Representative Cheney for violating 18 U.S.C. 1622, which prohibits any person from procuring another person to commit perjury,” the report said. ”Based on the evidence obtained by this Subcommittee, Hutchinson committed perjury when she lied under oath to the Select Committee.”

If Kash Patel is confirmed as FBI Director, Liz Cheney is going to need to lawyer up, unless she accepts a pardon. She has a choice between tacitly admitting guilt, or being prosecuted.

Rump and his January 6th lot should have been charged with terrorism. Why weren’t they?

Because it was mostly just a peaceful protest that got a little rowdy. Have a problem? Ask Biden's Justice Dept. who charged the vast majority with just interfering with an official proceeding (that the Supreme Court has ruled was invalid) or trespass.
