Trump is wrong. This is nothing to do with DEI policies of past admin. The chopper controller was confused and crashed into the plane.

But that’s doesn’t apply to air traffic controllers. So DEI is not the reason they’re understaffed. Trump only mentioned DEI because one of the Blackhawk army co-pilots was a woman. There’s no proof she caused the crash, or that being a woman had anything to do with it. Wrong. These were applications for the position of ATC. And 95 percent of stations are understaffed. This is directly related to the DEI hiring policies of the Biden administration. IP: Logged |

I think Trump's comments about DEI were hasty, it is always best to wait and see what the investigation uncovers before making strong statements. However, in the end, when the dust settles, Trump might be proven correct. It is undeniable that the FAA has practiced DEI and rejected qualified applicants on the basis of race since the Obama administration and these practices were not stopped during Trump's first term. The first lawsuit against those discriminatory practices was that of Andrew Brigida in 2015. He scored 100% on his training exam and his application was rejected. By the way, this issue with the FAA and air traffic controllers and DEI practices should be a bi-partisan issue and not one that pits democrats vs republicans, left vs right.Do YOU really want people to be hired for these mission critical jobs on the basis of something other than merits? Do you really want to inject color, race, etnicities, gender, sexual orientation and other non meritorius factors into who is going to direct air traffic?? If your child needs a heart transplant, are you going to select the VERY BEST SURGEON with the best track record your insurance can provide, or are you going to want to check DEI boxes when it comes to selecting that surgeon?
